Dil's 3005 Big Board
Analysis
Tier One - Clearly the top two guys. Both of them could be franchise changers.
1. John Wall PG 6'4" 195 19 B C+ B B- C A 100
- Clearly 1.1 imo. One of the best looking prospects in any drafts thus far. He has the prototypical elite scoring grades that so many 2.0 stars had and very attractive handles and defense. The possibility of him being 6'5 230 is a nice draw as well. Don't sleep on that C rebounding grade which guarantees a high strength rating. This should be "The John Wall Draft".
2. DeMarcus Cousins PF 6'11" 270 19 B C- D+ B- B A 99
- Cousins is the only guy that could challenge Wall for 1.1 if a certain GM falls for him. I believe Ian would take him 1.1 due to his potential size. Cousins doesn't have any weaknesses and could be one of the most dominant bigs in the league if his GM commits to making him 300+ lbs. Odin has quite a history with Boogie as he played against him in high school and made him one of the most overpaid players in 2.0 history. What does that mean in terms of boom or bust? I don't know.
Tier Two - The next three in line of this five player draft imo.
3. Evan Turner SG/SF 6'7" 205 21 B C+ C B C+ B 95
- One of those guys that looks worse to us because of his irl play. These grades are legit. Very legit. He has the same scoring grades as Wall and better defense. The C+ rebounding is a nice touch, especially if he's created as a SG. Obviously the question mark is his B potential. These grades could still produce a solid player with a moderate potential though.
4. Paul George SF 6'8" 190 19 C+ B- C B- C A 94
- Look Ma' no leg. PG's 4.0 life comes at a sensitive time. His grades are a little underwhelming due to his irl success but they are accurate to his college days. Could this mean a high potential? I think likely. The good thing is that he has no large weaknesses in his starting grades so he is set up for a boom if Odin sees fit.
5. Derrick Favors PF 6'10" 246 18 B D+ C- B- C+ A 93
- This guy actually seems pretty good. His scoring grades match Hakeem's and he can add an alarming +40 lbs. I'm very interested to see how this fella turns out. He has a very nice base.
Tier Three - There is a pretty sizable talent drop-off from Tier Two.
6. Greg Monroe PF 6'11" 253 20 B- C C+ C+ B- A 90
- Monroe is an interesting prospect. I don't think we've seen one like him since 2.0 Kevin Love. He has a large boom or bust rating. I personally don't like this guy but can understand why someone would take him here. It all depends on his inside rating imo.
7. Wesley Johnson SF 6'7" 205 22 C+ B- C B C B 88
- Any of these next three guys can go here. They're equal imo so it depends on what your team needs or personal preferences are. Johnson is the beginning of a long list of prospects in this draft who look very similar. I like Johnson due to his well rounded grades and defense.
8. Larry Sanders PF 6'11" 235 21 C D+ C- B C+ A 88
- If you're looking for a defensive big this is your guy. He looks like the only lottery one in the draft. His scoring grades lend very well to the never shoot defensive big style that TMBSL loves. If he can continue to develop his defense while getting his rebounds to 10+ per game then he could be a very nice piece to a contender.
9. Eric Bledsoe PG 6'1 190 19 C+ C+ C+ B- D+ A 88
- I love Bledsoe irl but he has some holes in his sim game. It's going to be hard for him to develop into a scoring threat or a floor general. His rebounding grade is a little disappointing due to his freakish athleticism but if Odin wants him to be good then he will be.
10. Jordan Crawford SG 6'4" 198 21 B- B C C C- A 86
- I wouldn't be surprised if someone grabs this guy in the 1.6-1.8 range due to his elite scoring. If you can score 25+ PPG then you can play on any team even if your defense is less than ideal. Crawford has a very good chance to be that guy. If he can get that defense up to B- or anything above while being a big time scorer then I would call that a success.
11. Elliot Williams SG 6'4" 180 21 B- C+ C B C- B 85
- These grades are much better than I was expecting for this guy. The very strong grades are in a shadow due to him not being a very good college or pro player. Confusing.
Tier Four - Meh guys who look alright. Not going to win you any games.
12. Gordon Hayward SG 6'8" 205 20 C+ B C C+ C B 83
- Very nice size and scoring grades for a rookie SG. The defense is low but not a huge deal. The potential is the problem.
13. Ed Davis PF 6'10" 225 21 B- C- C- B- B- A 84
- Ed seems like he could actually turn out to be a good player. Pretty solid all around except for that 225 lbs. His starting grades show that he could be a good contributor if his GM commits to pumping points into him.
Tier Five - Interesting prospects
14. Xavier Henry SG 6'6" 220 19 C+ B- C C+ C A 82
- An intriguing prospect for a team to take a shot on if they don't have to rely too much on him. Great size and a nice base to grow from if he has nice potential.
15. Lance Stephenson SG 6'5" 210 19 B- C C C+ C A 80
- Lance will hopefully raise the swag level of TMBSL considerably. These grades suck but it's Lance. Never count Lance out.
