I wanted to look at all of the drafts to see if this last draft was indeed deeper than all of the rest. I also wanted to see if there is anything to the grade inflation rumblings. I originally just wanted to look at the drafts with grade distribution but not ever drafted had 29 players drafted so we broke them down with some percentages. Before you see anything.......3003 was rough for all of you tankers and GM's looking to grab a role player in the draft. All of these grades are from the FIRST training camp each player had and does not include any upgrades. Potential was NOT included
Here are how many players were taken in the last 5 drafts and the total number of grades for each draft.
3001- 27 players - 135 grades
2002- 25 players - 125 grades
3003- 25 players - 125 grades
3004- 28 players - 140 grades
3005- 29 players - 145 grades
Here is the breakdown via percentages which gives us a better look from draft to draft.
That graph just shows me that the 3003 draft just didn't have that top tier talent and had just a little more C- and below. I truly don't think this new draft was anything crazy and not really concerned with possible inflation. What are your thoughts?
