Analysis
1. Dwight Howard C 6'11" 255 19 B D+ D+ B+ B A 100
- Dwight is the clear 1.1 imo. Some people have suggested otherwise but I would be very surprised if someone else was taken here. The B D+ scoring isn't ideal but it's not too bad especially since he can grow to be 7'0" 290 lbs. Hakeem and a few others have proved that B D+ can still produce. The real calling card here is his B+ B defense/rebounding. He will be a serious contributor to his team from Sim 1 and could be one of the best bigs in the league very soon.
2. Shaun Livingston PG 6'7" 182 18 B- C+ B- C+ C A 98
- Ian's #1 player in this draft. Livingston sports elite size for his position and a very balanced grade set. He has the coveted C rebounding and is only 18 years old. He could easily be the best player in this draft in 5 years depending on how he develops. His grades don't blow me away and scream #2 pick but I have him as my #2 player because of his size, strength, age, and balanced grade set.
3. Ben Gordon SG/PG 6'3" 200 21 B- B C C+ D+ A 96
- Gordon is a wild card player at this point until we see what position he is created at. If he is created as a SG with C defense then he significantly drops to the 9-11 range. If he is created as a PG or SG with C+ defense then he is in the top 5. Gordon sports elite scoring grades that can immediately contribute. The question will always be his defense. Even if he is created as a PG he will be moved to SG immediately due to his C handles.
4. Andre Iguodala SG 6'6" 207 21 B C C B C+ A 95
- Iggy has a major red flag: C outside scoring. Yet if we look at TMBSL history we find that three of the greatest guards to ever play in this software (McGrady, Wade, LeBron) started with C outside so there is a light of hope my child. Pretty much every other grade Iggy has is elite. He is a risky prospect but it could turn out as a very good gamble. Worst case scenario he turns into a defensive stopper who can get you 12 points and 7 rebounds.
5. Josh Smith SF 6'8" 220 18 B- C C- B- B- A 95
- Josh looks like a crappy SF and amazing PF to me. If he gets a +1 from the switch we're looking at an 18 yr old PF with B- C C- B B- A grades. That's pretty sexy. I have him tied with Iggy because they both have red flags with big boom potential.
6. Emeka Okafor C 6'10" 252 22 B C- D A- A- C 94
- Okafor is an interesting prospect. He can be a solid starter as soon as he is drafted. Can he get any better though? Is that B C- scoring a good thing or a bad thing? If his GM commits +8 into his inside scoring and defense he would likely turn into B+ C- D A A- C which is very nice. So why not take him earlier? Well it's hard to pass up the chance at drafting a star. Okafor likely won't be a star and the guys in front of him have a good shot at it.
7. Luol Deng SF 6'8" 220 19 B- C+ C B- C A 94
- Looks like Paul George to me. PG had C+ rebounding but I actually like Luol's scoring grades better. This is the type of balanced grade set that the software likes to turn into stars every so often. I'm not saying Deng will be a star but I'm also not saying he won't. Odin doesn't seem like a Duke fan to me though.
8. Devin Harris PG 6'3" 185 21 C+ C+ B- B- D+ A 92
- Harris looks like a solid PG prospect. Good handles and defense. Okay scoring. Good size. A potential. I like him. If he can develop that outside scoring while keeping those handles and defense in good shape then I could see Harris being one of those PG's that averages a solid 16/10 and gets passed around to 5-6 teams in his career.
9. Josh Childress SF 6'8" 210 21 C+ B- C+ B- C+ B 89
- These are fun grades. Could this man become an Odin special? Who knows. Childress has a little of everything. He was pretty good in college but never scored more than 13 ppg in the pros. He could have a similar bust in tmbsl if the software doesn't like him.
10. JR Smith SG 6'6" 210 19 B- B C C C A 88
- JR Swish looks a whole lot like Jordan Crawford from the last draft. Mr. Smith has had a much more successful irl career than Crawford so it will be interesting to see which one has the better sim career. Like every Chalky-lite, the story here will be can he score enough to make up for his lack of defense?
11. Delonte West PG 6'4" 180 20 C+ B C+ B- C- B 86
- D West looks like a solid prospect. Very similar to MJ's sleeper pick Elliott Williams last year. West already has very good scoring grades for a PG but his handles need some work. If he can make the switch to SG without dropping his B- defense then he could be a steal.
12. Kevin Martin SG 6'7" 185 21 B- B- C C+ C- B 86
- If this guy had A potential then he would be (shockingly) much higher than this. I'm a big fan of these grades. He's a big time scorer with great size for a SG and his defense won't kill him.
13. Pavel Podkolzin C 7'5" 303 19 C+ C C B- C+ A 85
- This monster was super weird in 2.0. I think his outside scoring +3'd between the ages of 27-32. Pavel is massive and can stroke it. He'll make his free throws and be a cement pillar in the paint. I doubt his GM will give him much extra weight but he could balloon up to 7'6" 338 and solidify himself as the largest player in TMBSL history. He could be a great role player on a championship team.
14. Andris Biedrins PF 6'10" 240 18 C D- C- B- B- A 85
- Biedrins is another 2.0 legend. This man was king of the 3 blocks, 12 boards, 2 points stat line. Canes ended up hoarding Andris for most of his career so it will be nice for him to experience another man leading him. He's very young and has a lot of room to grow. He could also get the +1 moving from PF to C.
15. Jameer Nelson PG 5'11" 195 22 B- B- B- C D+ B 83
- Nelson has some great looking grades until you get to the defense. B- B- B- is an elite combination but like many others in this draft he has a red flag. This one will depend on how Odin makes him. He has the base to be made into a very good player. Or he could be made to bust. It's a risk worth taking if you have a chance at him in the mid-late teens.
