Buster: I'll go with devine. He lucked out and landed MJ, picked up Laimbeer in FA as well, then traded for Buse. With that said, devine is obviously still incompetent and his team will more than likely end up in the lotto.
2poor: The obvious pick would be devine, who landed the best available free agent, a top notch defensive big, and Don Buse. But we all know he isn't going to do shit with MJ, who is now a mortal lock to be 4.0s first depression related early retirement. So I'll take the GM who actually has the potential to do things with the hand he was dealt and say bruns. Oscar Robertson looks like he could have the potential to eventually take Magic off the "best living player" mantle, and he hit on a couple other picks as well. Things are going to be looking pretty good for bruns pretty soon, I think.
Canes: I like what Dirt did. Logo looks like a top 10 player in TMBSL from day 1. However, he made some questionable FA signings and trades and that keeps him from having the best offseason. I am going to reach a bit and say that KN88 had a great offseason. While it was mostly luck, getting moses on day 1 and mcadoo waiting until day 3 to sign was huge. KN easily has the best front court in tmbsl now. that is a scary combo of 3 players.
Trofie: I'm going to go with devine. His team isn't really doing shit thus far, but he gained a ton of talent that should help him in the longterm. It's never bad to land a max player. In the East I will say the Raptors. They retained the main guys and should be solid if they can Get past God's team.
2. On the flip side, who IYO had the worst offseason?
Buster: Devine. He picked up MJ, Laimbeer, and Buse, and his team still sucks. Sucks that kn88 lost his best player to such an undeserving GM.
2poor: It has to be fason. Didn't he win 60 games last season? And now he is in ROOINS.
Canes: You would think that the obvious answer would be Fason. Losing MJ is a killer, but its not his fault so I am not going to say he had the worst offseason. I am going to go with a bit of an off the wall pick and say Heel. He just won the title and yet he managed to get his team into cap hell and had to sell of Hakeem. He got bailed out with quincy pondexter blowing up in TC and being an excellent back up wing prospect, but when you break up a title contender because of your own cap mismanagement, you end up at the top of this list. Scat deserves a mention for not doing anything to improve his roster.
Trofie: Worst offseason, shit. I'm not going to include random acts like FA in this one. The worst offseason goes to Bruns. He drafted Oscar when he clearly should have drafted Lenny Wilkins to help his tank. What an idiot!
3. Looking back at the draft now that we've seen TC, who would you have taken [HASH]1 overall given the current state of your team.
Buster: I'd go with Oscar just barely over Wilt. Oscar looks like the type of guy who could push a triple double every game and could very well be the next Magic Johnson, or at least the closest thing to Magic. That 93.7% from the line looks is very promising as well.
2poor: I'm tempted to say Wilt just because John Wall is pretty good, and my starting center is 35 years old, but I would still take Oscar. If someone has GOAT potential, you should take him [HASH]1.
Canes: JW looks good right now and you can never have enough guys like Wilt, but I would take Oscar Robinson. you win in this league with elite PG's. Wilt is well on his way to having a grade set of A- A A+ A+ C+ and leading the bulls to multiple playoff appearances. Those monster pre season numbers are ridiculous.
Trofie: This is tough as my team has more holes to fill than Melanie at the moment. It's between 2 people for me Oscar and Wilt. One is a dominant PG the other is a big, whom I could matchup next to Godbolt and create havic. I'm going with Wilt.
4. As we all know Soup recently stepped down as the Mavs GM. How long do you think it will be until Soup "returns"?
Buster: I was going to say he'd be back right around the All-Star break, but as of sim 4 it appears he's already returned. Glad he didn't drag things out. The league runs a lot better with an active Soup. Or at least I assume so since he's never been gone. TXIA.
2poor: like a week, tops. he needs us.
Canes: It won't take long. I get that he is upset that his team has been decimated by FA, but its happened to everyone at some point. As someone who is also feeling a bit burnt out, I can understand how FA would be the last straw, but Soup will be back and it won't be long. At most I give it until the start of the NBA season before he is asking for a team again.
Trofie: I think he will get over it. People may be calling him a bitch but whatever. I said I was doing the same thing If I lost Godbolt. But That's kind of different because you never want to lose God. Just kidding I'm atheist , there is only one god.
5. Devine lucked out and landed Michael Jordan in free agency. Say something mean about devine.
Buster: Devine sucks
2poor: devine with talent on his team is like a mule with a spinning wheel, no one knows how he got it and danged if he knows how to use it.
Canes: It seems the shitty GM's have all the FA luck in 4.0. (insert 2poor joke about me getting lucky resignings). He has been a terrible GM in 4.0 and he has been quite difficult to deal with. Been trying to get a FF trade done with him since week one and it still hasn't happened.
Trofie: You didn't get herpes from a hockey stick. You got it from your mother whom happens to be a whore. But like most whores children you were probably born with it. So it's really not your fault. Good luck this upcoming sim season.
6. What is the one thing you're most looking forward to this upcoming IRL NBA season?
Buster: I'm looking forward to watching Kobe again. After only being able to see a handful of Lakers game featuring Kobe "The GOAT" Bryant over last couple years, I'm really looking forward to seeing him back on the hardwood fully healthy. Obviously the Lakers are going to fucking suck, but as long as Kobe stays healthy the season should at least be entertaining. Someone will probably die.
2poor: Russell Westbrook committing on-the-court war crimes until Durant comes back.
Canes: Certain posters are going to lose their mind over this comment, but I am really looking forward to the Heat actually giving a shit about the regular season this year. It was pretty frustrating as a fan to watch them go through the motions most nights and beat a crappy the Bucks by 5-7 points when they should have won by 40. The record won't be nearly as good this year, but at least they won't be thinking about the playoffs from day 1.
Trofie: The heat sucking. Kyle korver continuing to be great, and Allen Iverson continuing to climb that mountain of poverty
7. Call your shot. Who is going to win the 3008 TMBSL championship?
Buster: The Magic. I feel like this is finally the year MJ and Magic Johnson get it done. They should waltz to the finals in the down again Eastern Conference and with the best player in the league, winning it all seems like a great possibility.
2poor: This year sim league will go like the real NBA, with the Oklahoma City Thunder hoisting the trophy. JHB has probably the best trio in the league, he can lean on playoffs Williamson once the postseason starts, and the team that eliminated him last year is now in ruins.
Canes: Shit, this is tough. Gonna say the Thunder. There is no far and away best team in TMBSL this season. So why not the Thunder? They seem like the most complete team in tmbsl. Dark horse would be KN88 and the Bullets.
Trofie: The finals will sport a matchup of the Twolves and Young bucks.
The twolves with survive the West because they deserve it. And the bucks because I honestly feel like it's a 2 horse race, Magic or Bucks. Raptors still have a ways to go with the guards needing improvement. I would have the Rockets in the west but Dil refuses to trade for Gervin. So lake of fire for him
8. Post a gif describing how you feel about your teams upcoming sim season.
