Apple vs Android (257 views)

So I'm eligible for a phone upgrade. 

My laptop is also on its final march to death. 

I currently have a HTC One and a Dell Laptop.

I figured if I was ever going to convert to being all Apple it would be now.

Someone with the knowledge please give the me the benefits and negatives on Apple and recommendations on what to do.

I'm a big fan of android and pc over apple. Apple products do some cool stuff, but you're paying a premium for that logo on the back. You can find similar features/functionality on pcs and androids as on macbooks and iphones for about $3-500 cheaper

I got a baller as shit lenovo for like 800 bucks.

I loved my 2 macbook pros, but after I broke the 1st paid full price for the 2nd and then after some slight water damage was told my macbook pro would cost 1200 dollars to fix I said fuck off.

Lenovo and its no issue damage warranty (like 50 bucks a year) has been awesome.

As for my phone, I do still like my iphone. I just upgraded to a 5s (I never get the new one) although I did look for a long time at the galaxy or whatevers.

I should also elaborate that I have a 5 year old hp envy (complete with sweet BEATS audio design and a shitty BEATS audio speaker system) and a Galaxy Note 3 cell phone, plus I just got an iPhone 6 through work. Love my Note a lot more than the iPhone, but part of that is probably just familiarity

So guys who don't love Apple.... Could you build me a fucking kick ass laptop. I would only need it to surf the internet.. would need Microsoft office for work and be able to torrent... Outside of that I don't do much on my laptop.

I have had my dell since 2011 and fucking love it. Buts its doing random crazy shit and probably at the end of days.

I preferred my iPhone over any android I've ever owned. That's really all it comes down to though is personal preference.

But if you're gonna buy a laptop bankzy seriously look at lenovo, they got a bunch of horsepower running under the hood. Unless you're looking for something lightweight and mobile.

Also the keyboards are black and backlight with red lights. So your greasy pizza hands will probably mark it all up

I'm looking for something I can surf the internet, torrent, and play a few games on.  Also do some work related stuff.   But mostly torrent, watch movies and bullshit on TMBSL....


care to point me to the perfect laptop?

you don't need a "kick ass" laptop if you aren't going to use it for stuff like high end gaming, overclocking the graphics card, doing intensive media stuff. Torrenting fast is more about your internet speed than anything going on with your laptop and for the other stuff you can get a cheap Think Pad for a couple hundred bucks that will work just fine for it.

pretty much anything with better than an i5 processor and 8 gigs of ram will be able to take care of everything you're looking to do and then some.

Never had an andriod but I really like my 6+. Don't get this animosity that people have for me when they see that I have an iphone. Reminds me of the Seinfield episode with the gang fights and I don't know the van buren sign.

you can buy a PC laptop for like 40% of what you'd need to pay for a macbook pro/air and still end up with more functionality than the Mac.

also Mac operating systems pretty much suck dick (to me) compared to windows 7.

I like my iPhone more than any phone I have had previously. Always had android phones before this. Will likely never go back.

Have never owned a Mac computer though.
