Marvel just announced they have reacquired the screen rights to Spider-Man, so he will be joining their cinematic universe. They also announced they are recasting the role away from Andrew Garfield, who played the character in two middling to bad films. Let's go to user IanBoyd with his reaction on Marvel's most recognizable property rejoining their stable of heroes.

The Tobey Maguire Spiderman movies have aged horribly. At the time I didn't think they were bad... now :l I also really liked the newest reboot but i'm likely in the minority on that. |

I watched Spider-Man 2 last month. It was fantastic. The CGI swinging is the only thing that hasn't aged well

Did the prequels make you think Empire Strikes Back stinks? Does the first Matrix stink just because Revolutions is the dumbest movie ever filmed? The answer is a resounding no. |

I think you are underselling the fact that it's a separate and distinct piece of film from Spider-Man 1 and the GOAT Spider-Man, numero dos. |
