Hello there loyal readers.
After last year's outstanding crop of rookies, there was no where to go but down. And down we went.
To the grades . . .
Bucks – B- (Qrich (1.14 - 10), Penn (2.11 - 9))
Both of these picks were good values, but the Report doesn’t grade on a curve because it was a shitty draft class.
Sorry, Trof.
Bullets – B- (Swift (1.8 - 11), Magloire (2.8 - 6))
We at the Report like Swift, which alone would have given the Bullets a B grade. But Magloire was not the best prospect available, and it’s going to cost Kn88 a half grade.
Bulls – B (Najera (2.15 - 7))
The Report’s first B goes to the Bulls, who managed to get good value in the middle of the second round.
Not much more to ask for out of this draft class.
Cavs – D (McCall (1.5 - 11), DerMarr Johnson (1.9 - 11), Benjamin (1.22 - 9), Dooling (1.24 - 7), Smith (1.28 - 7))
The Kobe Bryant of the 3014 TMBSL Draft, Heels goes for volume over quality and proves to be a liability to his squad.
Celtics – B (Samake (2.17 - 11), Hulett (2.28 - 8), Madsen (2.29 - 5))
Samake is a Report favorite, and earns Dump a solid grade. Thankfully none of these players will help the Celtics in their quest to have the third best record in the Atlantic.
Clippers – B- (Redd (1.15 - 9), Thomas (1.27 - 9), Sesar (2.18 - 7))
Dirt probably deserved a C+ for this haul of rubbish, but Redd’s got some great scoring grades. There is really nothing else to like.
Grizz – A- (Mason (1.10 - 10), Kersey (1.23 - 12))
As predicted, Druce ignores scouted potential and drafts a couple of gems. The only way he could have done better in this draft was to have traded his picks altogether.
Heat – A- (Keaney (1.1 - 19), Stevenson (1.20 - 10), Langhi (2.3 - 9), Brown (2.16 - 2))
Our second A- goes to Canes, who took the Report’s advice and drafted Juan number 1 overall. We at the Report don’t know whether it feels so good to be right about Keaney, or know that Ian was wrong yet again.
He’Wolves – D (Fizer (1.4 - 13), Przybilla (1.16 - 7))
He’Wolves? Rules are rules, and these grades are going in alphabetical order. I’d mock Ian for losing yet another lottery, but he would have picked Fizer #1 overall anyways. So let’s all mock him for that!
Hornets – A+ (Ahye (1.6 - 16), Murray (2.6 - 23))
These prospects are probably only worth an A grade, but snatching Murray from Soup’s grasp earned Rv some extra credit.
Jazz – D+ (Alexander (2.10 - 8), House (2.23 - 4))
It is unlikely 2Poor reads this, so I have no reason to pander to him. What a shitty draft class. Still got a better grade than Ian, though.
LOL!
Kings – B+ (Udoka (2.25 - 7))
Not a bad prospect for the end of the second round. It could have been worse, he could have taken Malik Allen . . .
Knicks – C (Hedo (1.13 - 8), Oyedeji (2.14 - 1), Carrawell (2.26 - 8), Allen (2.27 - 4))
We at the Report are genuinely afraid of Mr. Dolan, which earns the Knicks a passing grade. Oyedeji might start over Aaron Gray, which says a lot.
Lakers – B (Claxton (1.25 - 9))
Claxton fills a need on the Lakers roster and isn’t a terrible player. Buster could have done a lot worse.
Magic – A- (Mihm (1.3 - 11), Dickau (2.5 - 15))
The Report really likes Mihm, but Dickau earns the Magic the A-. mj may push Dump for the third best record in the Atlantic if he keeps this up.
Mavericks – C (Harvey (2.7 - 5), Barkley (2.9 - 10))
Soup really missed out on the gem of the second round in Murray. To think what could have been.
Nets – C- (El-Amin (2.19 - 6))
Not a position of need. Not the best prospect available. The Nets would have been better off with 500 dump bucks from selling this pick.
Nuggets – B+ (Bryant (2.13 - 11))
Bankz has come a long way from the Swaggy P days. Bryant is a steal at this point in this draft.
Pacers – D- (Miles (1.19 - 9))
Miles has neither the outside scoring to be a wing, nor the size to be a big. Literally the worst pick since Dump took Big Baby.
Pistons – B (N’Diaye (1.17 - 11))
Tyler finally gets his defensive big.
Raptors – C (Crawford (1.12 - 9), Voskuhl (2.22 - 4))
I want to give Pete a good grade here, but I just can’t. Crawford looks like Reggie Miller 2.0, and Jake is a waste of a roster spot.
Rockets – A++
Dil avoided the shit show and earns the best grade in the draft.
76ers – A+ (Sanchez (2.24 - 16))
Jon Pierce 2.0. How did he drop in this draft? God dammit, people!
Suns – B+ (Mo Pete (2.1 - 5), Rakocevic (2.4 - 5))
At first, I wanted to give the Suns a D and say that Ankly should have spent more time scouting and less time creeping on Omeagle, but honestly his time on Omeagle produced more net benefit than any player in this draft class could have. So, on second thought, I think Ankly is smarter than all of us combined.
Sonics – B+ (Douglas (1.7 - 18), Bagaric (1.18 - 8))
Not a bad class for the Superyawnics. Douglas and the Chairman should produce a formidable late-lottery front court for years to come.
Spurs – B (Moiso (1.21 - 6), Brezec (1.29 - 8), Cleaves (2.12 - 10))
Not a bad first draft for Victor. He could have done a little better on the early picks, but Mateen is a proven leader that could develop into a good player.
Warriors – B+ Martin (1.2 - 14), Miller (1.11 - 8), Tsakalidis (1.26 - 6), Jaric (2.2 - 6)
Ocho would have earned an A if he’d forfeited his picks after Kenyon Martin. As it is, he gets a small grade deduction for the quantity of picks he made.
