Lawson is a short, well built PG with amazing speed and quickness on the court. He is faster with the ball in his hands than many guys on the floor without it. He improved his jump shot immensely during his time in Chapel Hill and has turned into a player opposing defenses have to respect as a scorer. He is very good on the defensive end of the floor using his quick hands to generate a lot of steals and deflections which often lead to fast break points on the other end.
