Hello friends. In the following I'm going to do my best to share our fun-filled weekend in a montage of pictures. It was a great 4-day weekend for myself, Bruns, Trofie, Lazy Pete, and Ocho with special guest appearances by ANK1990 and former 2.0 Spurs GM hitmyjumpset. We laughed, we cried... well Bruns cried after the Raptors title, we hugged, and we slapped. But the important thing is no one went to jail and no one died. Enjoy.
We got the weekend started off right with some Fetty on the drive in.
Things were going well with Fetty blaring until I noticed a problem. A good portion of Bruns' back bumper was dragging. :ohhh: So we of course did what any logical person would do. Bruns pulled out his pocket knife and cut the dragging bumper off while Trofie supervised and I took a piss on the side of the interstate. We were back on the road in no time.
Just as we started getting close to Chicago Homecoming by Kanye came on Pandora. That's when we knew we were really doing it. Some might call it destiny.
Ah, Chicago. The Big Apple. Beautiful as ever.
We pulled up to the hostel VIP gas tank on E but all drinks on Trofie (wipe me down).
We got checked in, met up with Ocho, pistol showed up about an hour later, and we made our way to a local eatery for beers, food, and the draft. I helped myself to this majestic french fry/hamburger/egg/cheese contraption. Delicious.
After this I somehow lost my wallet. We all went back to the hostel and drank PBR and played pool. The rest of the fellas went to a bar I believe while I walked back to the restaurant and tore through the hostel trying to find my lost wallet. As it turns out it was in our room on a table the entire time. Buster was very relieved.
***Blackout engage. Onto day 2***
The next afternoon we found ourselves a nice Romanian driver who gave up a lift to Wrigley and played us some sweet house music. I rode comfortably in the front with our new Romanian friend while the other crammed into the back of the sedan on each others laps.
We got to Wrigleyville and decided to hit up Merkle's, the local Iowa bar. While at Merkle's we encountered a nice young lady with one hell of a camel toe. I tried to take a picture of said camel toe but it came out a tad blurry. My cracked to shit phone doesn't take the best photos these days. Here's the picture anyway. Yes I'm aware that she's staring directly at me.
After Merkle's we made our way to Murphy's where we drank many a Crown and Old Style with our bartender Erin from Davenport, IA. Erin told us stories and showed us pictures of her hanging out with Eddie Vedder KwYawnza and I made bad jokes. She was also kind enough to take our picture.
While there we also encountered a nice 81 year old lady named Loretta who was kind enough to draw our picture for a cool $25.
Here I am pictured with Loretta. I'm not scolding her like it appears, we're actually just having a nice little conversation about life and her upbringing.
We strolled into Wrigley and found our seats shortly after catching a nice buzz at Murphy's.
We didn't like our seats so we moved up about 15 rows, where we enjoyed a nice 1-0 gem from Jon Lester as well as Addison Russell's first homer.
We had a good ole time and even sang the stretch.
(Disclaimer: direct all complaints to Ocho for not going landscape mode on the video)
Random picture of our room at the hostel and Handsome pistol. Not sure when this was taken.
That night I believe it was we jammed to some Fetty on the roof while drinking PBR and celebrating the Raptors title. pistol and I made the great decision to stop by Walgreen's and purchase 5 bottles of champagne as well as some other drinks. Shout out to pistol for picking up the tab on that one.
***Blackout engage. Onto day 3***
We had great seats this day, 3 rows behind the Cubs bullpen down the 3rd base line. Unfortunately we sat behind a major douche who was apparently the strongest guy in all of Chicago. His girlfriend who was also annoying and happened to be from Miami. I know what you're thinking and the answer is yes, she did know who canes was.
pistol made a great athletic roll out move from his seat on the aisle to snag a ball.
We met the legendarily Ankly on the rooftop at Murhpy's after the game.
We proceeded to get wasted and have a good time.
***Blackout engage. Onto day 4***
Ocho rolled out early as fuck. Like 6:30am or something crazy. pistol's flight didn't leave until 4:00pm. Trof, Bruns, and myself on the other hand decided to try and hit the road at something like 9:00am. Until we hit a snag. The trunk wouldn't latch. So like any logical person we hit up the local Walgreen's for some duct tape.
Good as new.
All in all it was one hell of a weekend and I couldn't have asked to do it with a better group guys. I would say it was definitely a resounding success and I'm looking forward to doing it again next year and hopefully meeting some of the rest of you fellas.
