1st issue
Lawnmower cut out after about 30 minutes of mowing. The mower (presumably the engine) made a popping sound and the mower steadily died in about 2 seconds. I tried restarting it immediately with no luck. Checked oil (haven't changed the oil since getting it used in April) and fuel levels and all is good there. So I wait 30 minutes and go through the general startup and the mower starts right up but dies within 15 seconds in the same manner as before. Take it back to the shed and for shits and giggles try again and the thing starts up very strongly runs for about 2 minutes then dies.
Based off of preliminary Google research, it seems that this most likely is a flywheel or fuel injection issue. The latter can be attempted to be fixed with fuel cleaner. However, I have zero clue if this consistent with the issue I am having.
I am guessing the mower the is about 10 years old and is Craftsman w/ a Briggs&Stratton motor. Is this worth taking to the shop in your opinion or should I just bite the bullet and get a new lawnmower.
Any suggestions or direction will be appreciated and if you come fix it yourself you can have Sim Durant.
Love,
Jerry

Sounds like a bad sparkplug or shitty gas. Most likely sparkplug. Cheap fix

yeah try a new sparkplug
they sell lawnmower tune up kits that include oil, filter, new spark plug, and fuel cleaner
generally get one of those every other spring myself

Did it choke out from cutting too long of grass? Don't believe so, it has happened on previous cut grass, grass that was mowed about a week ago, on the driveway etc.

Sell the mower, hire neighborhood kids. Win-win.

Just mowed 3 different lawns and didn't break my mower. Take some notes, Jerry.

Replaced the sparkplug and air filter. Mower ran for long enough to mow the rest of the grass but still didn't sound healthy. Probably going to check the fuel line next.
