The son of a Hall of Famer, Schayes has the best pedigree in the draft. However, it didn't translate into eye popping production at Syracuse. Scouts believe Schayes clearly has the potential to develop into a star at the next level, but he hasn't put it all together yet. Opinions differ on whether or not he will ever mold his raw talent into an effective professional basketball player. His size and strength are impressive and he gave NBA scouts a taste during his senior year at Syracuse which was by far his best. He was more of a role player during most of his career at Syracuse, but with coaching, time and patience, most think he can turn into a star at the next level.
