This ranking scheme also introduces issues: for instance, the Thunder free agents only played 362 minutes between them, raising small sample size concerns. In any event, the Suns clearly had the most efficient free agency period by both rankings and by wide margins each time. The 76ers, Kings, Knicks, and Nuggets round out the top five in some order. The most inefficient free agency period is also clear: hats off to the Hawks. The Bulls, Celtics, Lakers, and Spurs round out the bottom five.

Yeah I've done that too. There are definitely different motivations to what players GMs pursue, I just think this is a useful measure for people who were trying to get good (or bad) players to see how well they did (so far). If you were just signing whomever, don't worry about your value. I'm going to keep track of multiyear players going forward too so we can see things like dollar efficiency over the life of a contract.
