I don't have the potentials for this class but I remember a good few. Sorry :(
1. Gary Bossert, SG - Philadelphia 76ers
Starting Grades: C+ B+ C B C A
Current Grades: B- A C- B+ C C
Original Draft Slot: 1.2 (Pacers)
Starting Potential: 96
I understand Fason's reasoning but I suppose he didn't get the memo stating how good Bossert would be. Gary Bossert, former basketball mentor/coach of our very own MJ, was the first superstar I drafted in 2.0 (I'm not going to count Dario "bonus points" Saric). Ultimately the downfall of that Bobcats roster ruined what could have been a storied career for 2.0 Bossert. Had Fason picked Bossert we would have finally seen a Conley/Bossert back court like the one I killed in 2.0. There was no chance Bossert wouldn't be a superstar. Good on whoever was Pacers GM at that point for not taking Pippen.
2. David Robinson, C/PF - Indiana Pacers
Starting Grades: A- D+ D A A- C
Current Grades: B+ C- D+ A+ A C
Original Draft Slot: 1.1 (Sixers)
Starting Potential: 82
Admiral was a very unique situation. Due to his loyalty to the US Navy he was forced to miss his first two seasons. That's obviously why Fason drafted him, but his team was so bad he could have kept up that tank even with Bossert. That being said, Admiral has had a very good career. He hasn't been quite the dominant force some had hoped but he routinely leads the league in rebounding and was a key piece to a Sixers championship team. I'm glad 20s suggested that we delay his entry to the league for two seasons, it was much more interesting that way.
3. Armen Gilliam, F - Portland Trailblazers
Staring Grades: B+ C+ C- B- B- B
Current Grades: A- C+ C A- B+ C
Original Draft Slot: 1.6 (Celtics)
Starting Potential: 98
Gilliam was abandoned pretty early by GM dumptime. Looking back, he could have been very good next to Drexler. There's nothing tremendously special about Gilliam, he's just an all-around solid player. And it don't get no better than solid. However, in a league void of SFs he's a 2nd tier starter.
4. Anthansios (Kittenfish) Cathasach, PF/SF/SG - Denver Nuggets
Starting Grades: D C B C+ B B
Current Grades: C- B A- B+ A- B
Original Draft Slot: 1.10 (Kings)
Starting Potential: 100
Brother of the legendary Theodosios Cathasach. Ant was obviously going to be a very good player but it was unclear how good he would be. Sure, you could put the next few players above him but Ant has had a much more consistent career. Despite being drafted as a PF he's SG/SF all the way. I'm sure it is/was incredibly frustrating for his owners who would love to see him at PG but what can you do.
5. Mark Gottfried, SG/SF - Atlanta Hawks
Starting Grades: will add when I get home
Current Grades: C+ A- C A- C+ C
Original Draft Slot: 2.12 (Raptors)
Starting PotentialL: 100
A classic case of the Bama bump and another elite late round pick by Good-looking Peter. Gottfried had a slow start to his career but has really come on over the last few seasons. Despite being incredibly efficient Gottfried clearly has a very low rating in what I call "shot priority", which is exactly what it sounds like. Luckily for him he is currently on a team that is meant to limit scoring from inefficient players. He should continue to thrive in that situation.
6. William Donovan, PG - Boston Celtics
Starting Grades: will add when I get home
Current GradeS: C A- A+ B+ D+ C
Original Draft Slot: 2.8 (Sonics, I think)
Starting Potential: mid 90s
favorite player. Former Florida Gators coach. Just another 2nd round PG I attempted to make into a good player. Nothing to see here.
7. Chris Welp, C/PF - Detroit Pistons
Starting Grades: B C- D+ B B- C
Current Grades: B C C- B+ B D
Original Draft Slot: 1.16 (Celtics)
Starting Potential: fuck if I know
A 2nd good pick by dump in this draft. Welp was a solid defensive big for several seasons but has died a bit lately. Welp...
8. Muggsy Bogues, PG/C - Brooklyn Nets
Starting Grades: C+ C+ A- A- D C
Current Grades: C B A A+ D- C
Original Draft Slot: 1.14 (Mavericks)
Starting Potential: no clue, 90s for sure
An ordinary case of a 5'3" PG with a maxed block rating. I actually ran a fake season where he played center and averaged more than 2 blocks per game. That shows height does matter in the software but not very much.
9. Sarunas Marciulionis, SG/SF - Seattle SuperSonics
Starting Grades: B- C+ C B- C B
Current GradeS: B- B+ C+ B+ C C
Original Draft Slot: 2.1 (Bulls)
Starting Potential: 95+
high pot, good grades, 10 handles. He's basically a 2nd round version of Grant Hill who ended up being pretty irrelevant. Not everyone can turn out as intended.
10. Dennis Hopson, SG/SF - Kansas City Kings
Starting Grades: B- B- C+ B- C+ A
Current Grades: A- B B+ B B- B
Original Draft Slot: 1.4 (Nuggets)
Starting Potential: low 90s
Speaking of not turning out as intended....
11. Horace Grant, PF - Chicago Bulls
Starting Grades: B C- C- C B- B
Current Grades: I say you he dead.
Original Draft Slot: 1.20 (Cavs)
Starting Potential: mid 90s
Grant's life was taken at a very young age. Actually, I have no proof of that. I didn't look to see which year he was eaten by the software. Grant was intended to be an above average PF who could contribute with some scoring off the bench. Think Jason Collier but not quite. At 1.11 that's good enough.
12. Lester Fonville, C - Los Angeles Lakers
Starting Grades: B- D D B+ B- C
Current GradeS: N/A
Original Draft Slot: 1.27 (Nets)
Starting Potential: 100
His name is/was Lester. We needed a good Lester. That's about it.
13. Reggie Miller, SG - Detroit Pistons
Starting Grades: C+ B+ C C+ C- B
Current Grades: B- A C C+ C- C
Original Draft Slot: 1.8 (Nets)
Starting Potential: like 75
I couldn't think of anyone else to put here. Sure, he wasn't supposed to be amazing, but I did expect him to become a good scorer off the bench.
