Because he can't run 

Playing fast doesn't always mean running and running imo. It is shooting quicker and earlier as well. Besides I also have 9 other guys on my team who fit moving quickly.

c.f. the Showtime Lakers. Kareem couldn't outrun a very slow person at running, but they flew up and down the court.
