1. Cavs – Kevin Garnett (PF 6'11'' 220 19 B+ C- C B B A)
Needs – SF, SG, PG
Pervis Ellison’s agent is furiously working the phones trying to find a landing spot for the former starting PF of the Cleveland Cavaliers. KG is an athletic specimen and should be a much needed shot of offensive firepower to the Cavs starting lineup.
2. Jazz – Jerry Stackhouse (SG 6'6'' 218 21 B B- C C+ C A)
Needs – SF, SG, PG
With 2Poor having locked up the Dunk Competition for the foreseeable future, he turns his attention to players that will help him win games. And no, we’re not talking about Charles Bradley. Stackhouse has the type of scoring grades that would make RW complain, which is a good thing, and 2Poor is a GM that will get Jerry’s defensive rating up.
3. Hawks - Joe Smith (PF 6'10'' 225 20 B+ C- C- B B A)
Needs – PF, SF, SG
Joe Smith’s greatest contribution to this Hawks squad will be taking shooting opportunities away from Hasheem Thabeet.
4. Bulls – Bryant Reeves (C 6'10'' 275 22 A- C- D+ B- B B)
Needs – SG, SF, PF
Shawn Kemp and Andrew Harrison are nice building blocks, and adding Big Country to the mix will make it difficult for Bruns to continue his tank. It may be time for Bruns to make a splash in FA.
5. Grizz – Rasheed Wallace (PF 6'10'' 225 21 B C D+ B B- A)
Needs – to be relegated to the TMBSDL.
‘Sheed in the Couev; Druce, TMBSL’s biggest UNC fan, drafts the former Tar Heel. Without much else on his roster, the Report doesn’t expect this pick to move the needle much on the Grizzlies win total next year.
6. Lakers – Brent Barry (SG 6'6'' 185 24 B B- C B- C- C)
Needs – SF, PG
A wise GM once said draft grades over potential. Barry has similar grades to Stackhouse, except for potential. Hopefully this approach doesn’t backfire for Buster.
7. Celtics – Antonio McDyess (PF 6'9'' 223 21 C+ D+ C- B+ B+ A)
Needs – C, PF
The Celtics have a good young nucleus of guards and wings. There is a big risk/reward calculation here for dumptime – draft McDyess and hope he has enough TC love to get that C+ inside grade to B+ or draft Theo Ratliff as a defensive big.
8. Spurs – Theo Ratliff (C 6'10'' 230 22 C- D+ D+ B+ B B)
Needs – PF, SF, PG
Dump’s decision at 1.7 likely influences what Victor does with this pick. If Ratliff is still on the board, expect Victor to snatch up the defensive big to pair with Chambers. Hopefully a move to PF will help Chambers look like a TMBSL starter, too.
9. Knicks – Ed O’Bannon (SF 6'8'' 222 23 B C C- B+ C B)
Needs – Not to resign any of his expiring players for the love of god please don’t do it!
I don’t know whose reputation is lower at this point, but pairing O’Bannon and eric seems perfect. Hopefully the former UCLA star helps the Knicks get back to the playoffs.
10. Celtics – Kurt Thomas (PF 6'9'' 230 23 B+ C- C- B- B C)
Needs – C, PF
The class has really begun to drop off as most of the top big men went early. That said, Kurt Thomas looks a like like DeJuan Blair and might be a great value pick here for dump.
11. Sonics – Michael Finley (SG 6'7'' 215 22 B- C+ C+ C+ C B)
Needs – SF, SG
The yawnics have got a fantastic core in Lawson, Herb, and Bagels. Finley is not a sure-fire starter, but he adds another developing wing to the roster. If one of his young wings has a couple of good TCs, Yawn will have one of the better teams in TMBSL in a few sim years.
12. Lakers – Damon Stoudamire (PG 5'10'' 171 22 C+ B B C+ D+ B)
Needs – SF, PG
The point guard pickings are slim this draft class, so Buster will need to take the best PG available in former Arizona Wildcat Damon Stoudamire.
13. Lakers – Cherokee Parks (C 6'11'' 235 23 C+ C D+ B+ B- B)
Needs – SF, PG
A poor man’s Antonio McDyess, Buster hopes that Cherokee gets the Commish special as a former Maverick.
