1. If you could change any rule or add a rule what would it be?
I think most of the current rules in place are in a good place as far as positive impacts and deterring cheesing. The one thing I would tweak might be stricter rules with anything involving deadlines (draft, DCs, bids etc). It would weed out the inactivity from certain GMs faster.
I would change the buy out rule, allowing people to buy out any contract no matter the length, and not be able to buy anyone out for the duration of that contract, i.e. Bill Smith has a 2 year deal, he gets bought out, you can't buy anyone out for 2 years. As far as adding a rule, this is small and probably pointless, but I don't think teams should be able to sign and trade players in the middle of the season. You want to fill your team with 3 more guys on a $1 mil contract at the beginning of the season, go right ahead, but I just think it's dumb and 100% unrealistic to sign a guy and trade him immediately on day 67 because that is something that would never happen IRL. Again, probably doesn't make a difference either way, but just fill out your roster with $1 mil minimum deals at the beginning of the season and there ya go.
Completely content with the rules we have in place but if I'm gonna be a pussy about it should be easier to trade LLE's. imirite canes...
- I know this is a recently new rule, but I think tankers should play their best players, including backups. If you want to full tank, then trade everyone. You can mess with your settings and such but you must play your best players, no excuses
As of right now everything looks solid. I would have already fired whats his face and got Bankz in here. With Moncrief he has no reason to complain so get him in a great situation. I wish we could put something into place where we have an idea on who has what kind of defense. If we could earn a chance to see if he has a higher driving/perimeter/post D.
2. If you could have 1 player to build around who and why?
David Thompson, been calling him the Reggie Miller of 4.0 since day 1, after just 1 TC at PG, he's already apparently a 30/10 freak of a PG that makes over 200 threes per year. Increase his steals a bit to like 2+ and he's winning MVPs at a Nick Diaz rate.
I'm having a tough time picking between Magic and David Thompson, but I think I'll go with Thompson. He's young, developed, and at least you know he's sticking around a few more years, and at that point you've got birds on him. He's in the conversation for the best player in the league and the rest is really self explanatory.
No brainer. Magic Johnson. Dude is just a stud at several positions and is the best young building block currently.
- Well obviously, Magic Johnson. Dude is on some Nick Diaz level shit in his rookie season and can play all 5 positions. I think Dirt can forgive Odin now.
This is a tough choice but I would say Walton White Power
3. You get to pick 2 GMs to go out for the night who would it be?
As many that has known me for quite a while from shout/tmbsl, being the somewhat stereotypical Asian that I am, I'm not exactly the "out for the night" type of person. I'm much more likely to catch a midnight showing of a Marvel movie than going to a club, so with that said, whoever can stomach some atomic wings with me while watching some Friday Night Lights and talk nerd shit like video games would get my pick. My first choice would probably be poetic nole (not a GM but still), with us sharing a common bond over wingstop and him being perhaps a bigger nerd than I am, pokemon and Magic The Gathering is even a bit out of my realm of nerdhood. Second pick I'll go Buster I guess, since he's been bugging me for a facebook accept for years now, we'll bond over atomic wings and hatred of Jim Buss as Lakers fans.
Buster and Trofie. They seem like the two that are most like me socially, with an exception being made for Buster's arrests. I think it'd be a blast, but there are a lot of guys from the league that I think would be fun to hang out with. I imagine even Dump and I would get along.
Other than the txia crew which is the obvious answer. I'm going with 2poor and Duc. Both good dudes and would have a good time.
- Buster and duc15. Me and Buster can arrange a playdate for Noel and Buttercup, and then me and duc15 can recollect the rise and fall of former NBA 1st rounder Jared Cunningham. I just feel like we are meant to be the three best friends that any of us could have.
I wouldn't mind going to Lincoln with Trofie but going to Tuscaloosa to see MJ and his fancy girlfriend sounds so much sweeter. I would make Odin come with us so i could be the best looking commish and we could smoke weed in the parking lot like the KC/DAL game last year.
4. Who was your favorite Commish and why?
The Godfather, Poetic hands down, from everything I remember dating back to 1.0, I don't remember that guy losing his temper even once and took on even more of a commish workload than I did. If anything, he was too lenient to a fault did didn't mind spending hours of time doing mind numbing tedious stuff if it meant GMs having a better format to check out sim results or making stuff look nicer.
Ian, because he knows so much about this shit, he cares a shit ton, he is meticulous, and he can take criticism without getting offended. That doesn't mean I don't like every person who's commished a league because I know its a shit ton of work and it sucks because there isn't a lot of reward. I really appreciate all the time and effort every commish has given the league and I don't think most of us show enough gratitude.
Odin is probably my favorite commish so far. Consistent with sims and is good at handling all the bullshit that comes along with being commish.
- This is such an easy decision. Its obviously the founder of this TMBSL as we know it, one PoeticNole. I mean where would we be without him. He always defended me against the angry mob of GMs and he took me underneath his wing. I really appreciated it. If one commish has a chance to catch him then I would say its Odin
I would say MJ. He frustrated me with his lack of noticing illegal tanking DCs(ocho) but i forgive him for giving me the file after a great game 7 victory over W2D.
5. Should there be punishment for illegal DCs and late DCs?
Yes, setting a DC is the bare minimum of even being a GM. If you can't even do that, give the team to someone who is willing to be active (bankz?)
I think it depends on the severity. Late DCs, if there is an excuse and it's only a sim or two late, no big deal. If it's something that takes like 3 or 4 sims or more, then we need to start looking for a replacement. No one should be fired unless they just don't do their shit, and thats #1. Illegal ones, it depends on the severity and recurrence. If someone keeps fucking around and being stupid multiple times and it holds up sims or is just blatantly terrible, then their draft pick drops 3 slots. If it keeps happening, then 5 spots the next time, etc. etc.
I think you should be given 24 hours to fix illegal DC's before penalty. Late DC's just should never happen. So yes.
- Should drop their pick a spot in the draft and no RC/TCs throughout the season.
Have a 3 strikes your out rule. If you don't get a DC in after a trade , after preseason , etc. your cut on the spot
6. Post a pic or gif of the Dirt reacting to Magics 1st TC
7. Wing Stop or Hooters and what Flavor?
Atomic and Mango Habanero all day
Wing stop, Garlic Parmesan (my go to wherever I go)
Never had Wing Stop before but I want to open one up in Iowa cause I think it would kill it. Hooters wings are fairly good but there's definitely better wings out there. Jethro' dry rub, best wings I've had.
- I don't really like wings that much. But for female talent, Twin Peaks >>>>
WingStop fries with Ranch are the best literally ever. OG Hot Bone in
8. Post a picture of your dream wife.
I would GM the fuck out of the Bucks for her:
9. Do you believe size and strength are just as important as scoring?
Definitely, height/weight and strength is the basis for every "plays above his ratings" player in FBB, its how Andrew Bynum became sim Wilt, Sim Boyd II averaging 30 ppg on C+ B scoring and currently likely how Magic averaging 40 on B B scoring. I hope that in 4.0 those things are mostly reserved for players on the caliber of a Foots Walker rather than creating more Nick Diazes.
I haven't really paid too close of attention to that, but I think for bigs it probably is, less so for guards.
I believe scoring is more important but I do think size and strength helps. With that being said, I have no fucking clue as it appears some post players with meh grades are beasting it in far in 4.0
- In this league, I believe Scoring is much more important than size and strength are. If you have someone like, George Gervin, David Thompson, or Magic Johnson than you are more likely to win. The Cavs are doing great with Lanier and Artis and that could play into the size and strength argument but those two are also probably two of the most efficient scorers in the league. Offense is more important than defense in this league.
I'm a firm believer, no matter what Ian says is Scoring. Size might matter but if you have 95/90/70 Scoring categories who cares what size you are. It obviously makes sense if your starting a 200 lb PF but Sanchez in 2.0 was an all-star at one point.
10. Give me your most hated GM and why
I don't hate anyone, its tmbsl, we only have 29 GMs in it, hating someone and hampering possible future deals is counter productive. That being said, there are a few that tend to annoy the shit out of me from time to time such as devine.
I don't really hate anyone, but I hate having Soup and Ian in my division because I think they're both really good and it's getting fuckin old having to compete against the all the time. We should have a re-alignment in like 5 sim years.
Dont hate any GM but never was a big fan of Ohh. Always trying to be a big internet tough guy and apparently thought nothing wrong of offering 34 year old expiring Baylor straight up for 23 year Sam Perkins in 2.0. Get fucked.
- I mean my most hated person in this league is an ex-GM named Bankz. He is the scumbag of the highest order. First, he takes this vulnerable, naive young man in Dallas, TX and pays for him to be sexually assaulted by a hooker in a motel for the entertainment of a message board. Then he takes a part in the biggest scandal this league has seen since the Mops/thickduck situation, when he pays the commisioner at that time, MJ, to ban one of the most beloved GMs in the league. He is a dirty Italian crook who roots for Italy over the United States of America in sporting events. Just a despicable man. For specific GMs, I gotta say I don't like the TX part of TXIA. Specifically, Soup. He also took a part in DumpBanGate and I'll never forgive him. Plus I'm pretty sure there was collusion between the two when Dirt was commissioner.
I don't hate anyone but i have a few that rubbed me raw aka Bankz. It was a good solid rival and i hope he gets back in here before this thing tumbles. Lets be honest why couldn't vedder just max Jesus like everyone else who had money did. Sorry budd.
