I've been doing this six consecutive years so I thought I would check out those results in toto.
First team
PG: 1 all six times
SG: 1 three times, 2 once, 3 once; out of position once (2)
SF: 1 twice, 2 once, 3 once; out of position twice (1, 4)
PF: 1 three times, 2 twice; out of position once (2)
C_: 1 twice, 2 once, 4 once, 7 once; out of position once (1)
Second team
PG: 2 all six times
SG: 1 once, 2 once, 5 twice, 6 once; oop once (3)
SF: 1 three times; oop three times (1, 2, 5)
PF: 1 twice, 2 once, 3 once, 6 once; oop once (6)
C_: 1 twice, 2 twice, 3 once; oop once (2)
So all told the best player at each position by Win Shares was First or Second team All-NBA in almost every year (3017 Stan Rob made it at SF and 3018 Jonny Pierce at PF). The outliers were...

I don't think there's a pattern there, you just expect 3 outliers in a 60 sample (2 teams * 5 positions * 6 years) and we happened to get 4. I do think there's a pattern in how the metric is most accurate for PG and grows progressively less accurate for bigger positions but it's irreducible error: the software doesn't output offensive/defensive rebounds, and centers currently just aren't that good.
