Garmaker comes out of Minnesota as a relatively polished outside shooter, knocking down jumpers and free throws alike. As good as he is from the outside, he's that bad around the rim. He doesn't finish very well despite good strength for a guard. His superior strength does him well in the post where he has shown the ability to bring down his share of boards. He's not exceptionally quick and needs to work on his passing if he's ever to become a difference maker in the league at point guard, and he lacks size to be a 2 guard. Garmaker's floor seems to be a rotation guard who can do well in an outside offense, while most scouts say his ceiling is as a starter on a fringe playoff team. Garmaker needs to focus on finishing at the rim and his court vision if he intends on proving scouts wrong.
