I was thinking today about how Bird watched McHale break the single game Celtics scoring record, then beat it a week later because s*ck it McHale, and I wondered if I could guess the single game scoring leaders for the original eight franchises. Feel free to play along at home! Celtics Knicks 76ers Warriors Kings Pistons Lakers Hawks my guesses Celtics - Bird Knicks - Reed 76ers - Wilt Warriors - Wilt Kings - Tiny Pistons - Isiah Lakers - Wilt Hawks - Pettit actual answers Celtics - 60, Bird Knicks - 62, Carmelo (Reed had 53) 76ers - 68, Wilt Warriors - 100, Wilt Kings - 59, Twyman (Tiny had 55) Pistons - 57, Stackhouse (Isiah had 47) Lakers - 81, Bryant (Wilt had 66) Hawks - 57, four way tie (Pettit, Lou Hudson, Dominique twice)

Missed on the Knicks, Kings and Pistons My guesses were: Celtics-Bird Knicks - Bernard King (I knew he held it, forgot Melo broke the record two years ago) Sixers - Wilt (duh) Warriors - Wilt (double-duh) Kings - Oscar (couldn't think of any prolific Kings/Royals scorers so I went with the Big O) Pistons - Isiah (took a stab at it, didn't think this would be right) Lakers - Kobe Hawks - 'Nique
