There's an attribute hidden in the software called "Scoring", just Scoring, no Inside or Outside. Does it matter?
To find out, I made a team of clones: same height, same weight, same attributes, same everything EXCEPT Scoring because I can't directly modify that anyway. I then changed out Mike James (98 Scoring) for Vin Baker (8 Scoring) at point guard. Mike James had .618 uses per minute where uses = FGA + .44 * FTA + TOV and .134 assists per minute. Vin Baker had .605 and .140. To confirm these findings, I repeated the experiment, pitting Eric Williams (23) against Paul Pierce (93). E-Wil had .471 and .095, the Captain had .507 and .083.
Scoring attribute isn't the only or even a dominant factor, but it matters. Guys with higher Scoring will shoot more and pass less than others with identical stats/positions/offenses.

Meh
all things "matter" when everything else is identical.
does it matter? imo no
100 scoring doesnt mean you'll shoot, and 0 scoring doesnt mean you cant be an elite scorer. the perennial top 3 scores in this league have a less than 5 scoring.
