Trade 1:
Bucks Send: Truck Robinson '03 Pacers '04 Bucks
76ers send: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
Trade 2:
Rockets send: Spencer Haywood Phil Smith '03 '04
76ers send: Truck Robinson Butch Beard
For the easily confused: Bucks trade Truck Robinson and two firsts for Kareem. Rockets trade two firsts, Spencer Haywood, and Phil Smith for Truck. 76ers trade Kareem for four firsts, Spencer Haywood, and Phil Smith.

Didn't want to give him a 6 year deal and didn't think I would be able to keep him with so many people having cap room.

love for rockets, like for bucks, meh for sixers
rockets get out from under two shitty contracts, that's almost worth the two firsts alone

love for rockets, like for bucks, meh for sixers rockets get out from under two shitty contracts, that's almost worth the two firsts alone Wouldn't call either of those 2 contracts shitty. Haywood is 6 mil for only one more year. Not bad IMO. Smith would be a solid starter, just hasn't had the chance to play this year. Percentages aren't bad. Could be a good PG with a few points into him. That said, I agree it's a nice deal for the Rockets. Losing those 2 contracts definitely won't hurt him as both players are expendable. Re-sign Truck and that team is going to be good for awhile. Fason gets 4 picks for an expiring, who he said he probably wouldn't have brought back anyway. Trofie finally picks up a good, legit big. Could be just what he needs to overtake the Cavs as the best team in the East, although I think he's still a move away. Good move by all 3 sides IMO.

Don't think I'm a move away imo. Get to move kermit back to his original position. That should help.

And a team over the soft cap with guys locked up for awhile would be fine having a guy like Smith locked up long term. Also, that Rockets pick is currently in the lotto. I don't think it stays there but you never know.

I just don't think it's a bad contract. He's young and has good grades. Think he'd be a good starter and would put up good numbers as a starting PG. Of course it looks like a bad contract now because his stats aren't good due to coming off the bench. Play him full time and I think people look at it differently. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd like to see what he could do as a starting PG. Was very happy to land him on that contract after last season though.
