Since idk where the last discussion went, I'm making a new thread. I'll be there from the 24th - 29th. Any recommendations on restaurants/must seen things that a 6 year old would be fine at would be appreciated. Also going to Baltimore on the 27th, so suggestions for there are welcome too. Staying at the hyatt place so if any of you want to meet up one night for a drink or something I'm sure I can manage to slip away for an hour or two. Lazy Pete @rv KwYawnza HeebsRight now, we're on tap for: Natural History Museum, Air and Space Museum, Mall Bus Tour, National Zoo, Baltimore Aquarium, Camden Yards, RFK

Friday is probably the only day I could meet up, but I'm down to grab a drink if you're free. What time are you getting here?

ah shit, nvm then. I'll try to think of some recommendations on top of what you've already got going. The Smithsonians you're going to are good. I would recommend doing a Capitol tour while you're here. Do it during the week, and set it up through your congressman or senator's office so you get a smaller tour group than the standard capitol tour.

The Air and Space museum is objectively the best museum in the world, so good on you having that on the list

I would recommend going to Market Lunch at Eastern Market for breakfast (tremendous buckwheet blueberry pancakes). It is cheap and provides an excuse to get over to Eastern Market, which is a nice neighborhood with a lot to see. If you don't make it there for breakfast, but do make it there, try the half-smokes.
2 Amy's is a great suggestion, Pizza Paradiso and Matchbox are my second and third choices in case 2 Amy's proves to be a hassle (who wants to Cleveland Park!)
I was never a huge fan of Founding Farmer's, but I only went there twice before I gave up. It's got a reputation for being good, and I trust the folks in shout that sang its praises.
If you like mussels and beer, I'd check out Granville Moore's.
I'll add more as I think of it.
My favorite sandwich place in the history of man is Bub and Pops on M St. Other places like
Daikaya ( for the contrarian ramen place which i, gasp, like more than toki :-X) upstairs is Izakaya which is the non ramen japanese restaurant Oyamel is awesome for that fancy stuff Thip Kao Blacksalt (loooooove it, but the palisades is basically a different universe) Dukem (ethiopian but a lot of people also swear by Ethiopic)
Also, after I got user pete drunk as a skunk on friday, I went to Ben's Chili Bowl and housed 2 half smokes and some chili cheese fries. I don't care if it's the tourist choice. I fucking love that place.

American History Museum is way better than the Natural History museum. Natural History is the lamest of the Smithsonians.

I Feel very strongly about this. Like a full third of the Natural History museum is just a big taxidermy display.
