I'm doing a quick preview before playoffs. Thanks
The east was much better this year than last ,so I don't imagine it will be such an easy journey for Heel and the Cavs to get to the sim finals this go around.
Vs
1 v 8
The Sixers logo is the only advantage the sixers have over the cavs. The Sixers have been attempting to tank the last 1/4 of the season but were not successful. They ended up as the 8th seed in the playoffs. The cavs however are the 1 seed after running off a 20+ game win streak to start the season. The other portion of the season was still good but nothing spectacular. They added Lucas which was a meh move imo as he's not an allstar PG. It also put them at a disadvantage re upping the best big in the league. However I don't see the series being close.
Cavs win the series 4-0
vs
2 v 7
This series is going to be much more competitive than the former. The celtics landed the Atlantic and although it's a shit division , dump's Celtics actually played well down the stretch after adding Adams. Burelson is meh, but since the trade World B Free played like an actual PG. The Hawks on the other hand played like shit for whatever reason the back half of the season. Neither team has a very good PF so , that won't matter. But I think Adams will kill Drew at SF. So it would be wise to plug Frazier at SF and try and let Drew do work on the weak Sg of the Celtics. I think this is a 7 game series regardless.
Celtics in 7
vs
3 v 6
This years Pacer squad isn't as good as last years imo, but they are still a strong team. The strongpoints are lacey and wilkes; Monroe is not bad either. The +- of this team isn't bad but it's nothing special, they are a good defensive squad though. The bucks are led by Kareem and Dr J. But they also have other good players that play second fiddle. I think that Chenier and monroe almost cancel eachother out. chenier with the slight advantage imo. The bucks will be down a starting big man for 2 games to start the series.Hopefully that does not come into play
Bucks in 6
vs
4 v 5
These teams are about as close as you're going to get. And it's going to make it tough to call. The Hornets have the better frontcourt, and the Pistons have the better back court. Both by wide Margins. There is only one superstar though on these squads and he resides in Detroit. But I don't know if he will be enough to win the series. Pistons are the better offensive squad and the hornets are the better defensive.
Hornets in 6
Round 2
vs
1 v 5
These teams are both built starting with the frontcourts. Both have acceptable players elsewhere but they're dominated by bigs. Both have good Pg's as well. It's strength vs strength in this matchup ; that being said the Cavs have superstar bigs and the hornets have good bigs. This gives the Cavs the edge in this series imo, should be good one regardless though.
Cavs in 5
vs
2 v 3
The celtics will attempt to slowdown Kareem with Burelson , however I don't see a way they stop Dr J. Adams will have to put on a show against Kermit forcing the Bucks Gm to move Dr J back to his original position of which he hasn't played since the creation season. Who knows how that will go. Free is the better ball handler but Chenier is more of a threat to score and I think that will put them past the surging Celtics in a tightly contested series. The wildcard is Cliff on the defense oriented Hughes
Bucks in 6
Eastern Conference Finals
vs
1 v 3
The championship should live up to the billing imo. The two best records in the conference will meet up in the finals and it should be a good battle. Each team has one huge advantage. The Cavs have a superstar at PF and the bucks have one at SG. Kareem and Artis likely cancel eachother out as do Chenier and Lucas(nod to Chenier though). That leaves the Sf up for grabs. The Bucks are the best rebounding team in the conference by a good margin, so if they are going to pull it out they will have to not be in foul trouble and hit the 3's. This series is going the distance, as the teams split the season series 2-2
