Conversation occurring at my gate right now.
Old, drunk, bearded man: "They said I could just take my beer with me. What state am I in?"
Middle aged woman: "Chicago."
Old man: "Illinois, huh? I should have brought my dog with me."

So after sitting at the gate another 10 minutes, I found out that he is from Arizona, is traveling to Michigan for his daughter's wedding, and needs to buy a pair of pants (which apparently he doesn't own because Arizona).

So directly behind me there is a man the size of Odin and his girlfriend who is the size of a hippopotamus.
One of their bags won't fit under the seat or in the overhead bin. Instead of telling the stewardess, the guy is just shoving his feet into the back of my seat.
Girl: "I want to go home and take some NyQuil. And see my cats. I love my cats.
Actually, I want to go to California."
(Silence)
Girl: "Wichita is better than Corpus Christi, Branson, San Antonio ..."
Guy interrupts: "A lot better than San Antonio, no doubt about that."
Girl: "The only good thing about San Antonio is grandma." [they appear to be siblings]
They are now discussing drives within Kansas the are approximately the same length as our flight.
Doors closed. I'll take notes during the flight to the extent I can hear them. More to come.

Came out of airplane mode for this last deep thought from the giant.
"There is no one that is evil for the sake of evil. Even the villains think they are heroes."

The last thing I heard before the engine noise took over was that they are currently planning a vacation to Cleveland next year to visit her friend that has hedgehogs and to go to the rock and roll hall of fame.

Never been to San Antonio. But just from sim experience it must suck, since my high profile players leave.

I like Indy a lot.
Really want to go to Boston as its been a long time since I've been and my wife has never been. She likes history and grew up Catholic so I think she will love it
Also on my list is DC. Never been there either
Also never been to Chicago or NYC so I'll probably try to go to those cities at some point

So this doesn't classify as eavesdropping, but I just shared a couple of beers in terminal G at O'Hare with a dairy cow barber.
He was on his way back from a competition in Alberta Canada where he had groomed the first and second places cows, but not the grand champion (I am still not clear on why there is a first place and a grand champion cow).
He showed me a number of pictures of groomed cows and explained to me how engourging a cow's udders produces more pronounced veins, which is a judgment criteria.
