Going to update this every 40 sim days this season. Rankings are based more on production rather than grades and potential. Preseason Top 10
1. Kyrie Irving PG 18 6'3'' 190 B B+ B+ A- C- ABy far the #1 rookie. He played SG in the preseason so those TOs should go up but that looks to be Kyrie's only weakness. I'm very jealous of kn88 and bitter that Kyrie is in the Atlantic.
2. Jonas Valanciunas C 19 7'1'' 280 B- C D+ A- B+ AVery solid preseason numbers for Jonas. Hopefully he shoots more during the regular reason. Spl should be very happy he fell to 1.8.
3. Jeremy Tyler C 19 6'10'' 260 B+ C C A- C+ BTyler looks like the steal of the draft after going 1.23. That C+ rebounding doesn't look like much of a problem with those 8.8 a game. 4. Nikola Vucevic C 20 7'0'' 260 B C- C B B+ AVucevic > Mirotic Great pick by Bankz but he should be thanking Bruns. 5. Brandon Knight PG 19 6'3'' 190 B B- B B- C AImpressive field goal percentage and assist numbers in 19.8 minutes. 20s looks to have his PG of the future. 6. Bismack Biyombo PF 18 6'8'' 245 C D D+ A- B+ A Those blocks, steals and shooting efficiency Looks like he is going to be a very productive defense and rebounding only big. 7. Alec Burks SG 19 6'5'' 215 B- B C C+ C+ BHe was productive and efficient in only 18.3 minutes a game. Already a good three point shooter and his jumper looks to be maxed out, he should be really good once he has points put into his inside scoring and defense. 8. Jimmy Butler SG 21 6'7'' 220 B- B- C- A- C+ AMeh preseason but I'm sure Bankz will give him more playing time during the season. 9. Tristan Thompson PF 19 6'10'' 245 B D D+ B+ A- AGood production in those 13.8 minutes a game. Looks to be the same exact player as William Bedford though. 10. Trey Thompkins C 20 6'10'' 250 C+ C C A- B- BSolid numbers but I don't expect him to be in top 10 again as other rookies get more playing time. Many of the lotto picks didn't get much PT so I expect the next top 10 to change a lot.
Eric loves teenagers as much as the the software.

disagree with kyrie #1 It's based on production. All we have to go off of is preseason so far. If you disagree with Kyrie number 1 based off that alone, then you are an idiot. Good day sir.

Day 40 Top 10 1. Kyrie Irving PG 18 6'3'' 190 B B+ B+ A- C- AThe next Aaron Harrison Turnovers are his only flaw that proves he is still mortal (for now). Averaging more blocks a game than Daugherty. Had a 69 point game last sim. tmbsl.com/TMBSL4/3025/boxes/36-3.html2. Tobias Harris SF 19 6'9'' 240 B B C C+ C+ AI really should have him at 1b. Already a stud on offense and that free throw percentage shows that he still has room to grow. Looks to be on his way to eventually becoming one of the best SFs in the league. 3. Jonas Valanciunas C 19 7'1'' 280 B- C D+ A- B+ AAveraging a double-double and 2.9 blocks at only 19. Eric Soup must have given him 5 jumping because his inside grade is already above 80. Jazz have some really nice young pieces in Jonas, Ackles, Thompson and Burks. 4. Jimmy Butler SG 21 6'7'' 220 B B C- A- C+ ALooking good, hopefully he doesn't nosedive like Drazen last season. Have to love 1.7 steals out of a rookie. Only needs to shoot more and improve that three point percentage. 5. Jimmer Fredette SG 21 6'2'' 195 C A+ C C+ C- BSteal by rv to get Jimmer at 2.2. Takes away some of the sting with Kawhi. A+ outside as a rookie is insane. Wish he'd shoot more though. 6. Enes Kanter C 18 6'11'' 245 B+ C- C B- B- ACame back strong after a terrible preseason. Looks good offensively but needs to improve that free throw percentage. ayyoe has a great trade asset if he decides to make a big move. 7. Tristan Thompson PF 19 6'10'' 245 B D+ D+ B+ A- AThompson would be much higher if he got more PT. He might already be just as good/productive as Pervis. SugarShaun give the man some more PT. 8. Klay Thompson SG 20 6'7'' 205 C+ A- C C+ C BWould be right behind Butler if his field goal percentage didn't drop in these last couple sims. With those grades I was worried he was going to be like JJ Redick and not shoot enough. 9. Alec Burks SG 19 6'5'' 215 B- B C C+ C+ BHe can definitely score, 9 points in 16 minutes is very good and his field goal percentage is decent. Hey SPL don't trade this guy, he may end up being better than Thompson. t10. Nikola Vucevic C 20 7'0'' 260 B C- C B B+ AHaving a strong start to his rookie season, if he were getting starter's minutes he'd probably be putting up the same numbers as Jonas Valanciunas. He needs to steal some minutes from Washburn or Ellis. t10. Bismack Biyombo PF 18 6'8'' 245 C D D+ A- B+ AHad to get my man Bismack in there. Going to be a good defensive big, just needs to cut down on the TOs.

for the record i didn't design Jonas, that was soup. it was decided that was a conflict of interest given my love for Les Mis
Kyrie Irving | The next Aaron Harrison Jimmy Butler | Only needs to shoot more and improve that three point percentage. in the words of roger murtaugh, nailed em both
TT with 14 rebounds and 5 blocks per 36 minutes. if i had only seven centers on the roster i would beating down shaun's door to get him, don't even matter that he can't hit the basket with a shovel, but i've got eight centers on the roster. eight is enough.

I've got him listed 2nd and 3rd at PF on my DC. Not sure why he isn't getting more minutes. Going to need to start him to get more Putting a player third on the DC doesn't substantially increase his minutes. First reason is look at the minutes guys get who are listed only at third. For example, I have had Garmaker and Freiberger listed third all year; they have 28 minutes and 36 minutes respectively over 27 games. Second, especially for bigs, a big reason a coach takes a guy out is for foul trouble, so obviously he's not going to put in the third option if he also has foul trouble (what with being the same guy). The only reason I would put a starter/backup at third string is if it's at a position the coach conceivably wouldn't think of him anyway, like a PG at SF. You're still playing with fire there because the coach can decide to bypass the DC if he feels the player can't play (whether from foul trouble, fatigue, or being bad), and you really never want the coach making his own decisions. I once had a DC with starter/backup/backup at PG and a third PG on the roster, the coach once decided to sub a PF in for the backup PG. As Odin says, you've got to put him at multiple positions to really juice the minutes rather than multiple strings. You can squeeze out a minute per game tops by repeating a same player in deeper strings, and my feeling is you lose more by giving up control of the coach. Even in the starter/starter/starter DC days guys played pretty much the same mp/g they do now.

Day 75 Top 10 1. Kyrie Irving PG 18 6'3'' 190 B B+ B+ A- C- ADay 75 and Kyrie is still incredible. TOs went down .2, should be the best player in the league once he gets the TOs below 3 a game. Kyrie is the only rookie to win ROTM, he also already has a POTM. 2. Tobias Harris SF 19 6'9'' 240 B B C C+ C+ AAll of Harris' numbers dipped a little since the last set of rankings. He's still having the second best rookie season. Would have easily been the best rookie in last year's class. 3. Jonas Valanciunas C 19 7'1'' 280 B- C D+ A- B+ APPG and FG% improved. Can't see any weaknesses from the stats, looks to be on his way to becoming one of the best young big men in the league. 4. Jimmy Butler SG 21 6'7'' 220 B B C- A- C+ AStill looks very good. Could probably average close to 20 a game if he were a scoring option for a scorched roster. Sidenote-I really hope this is the Nuggets last season of tanking. Bankz is only 2 seasons away from tying the original Bankz tank. 5. Tristan Thompson PF 19 6'10'' 245 B D+ D+ B+ A- AProduction has improved with the increased PT. Jumper looks completely broken though. 6. Alec Burks SG 19 6'5'' 215 B- B C C+ C+ BHe and Klay Thompson look like the same player. Grades and production are similar. I like Burks more right now due to the efficiency. 7. Jimmer Fredette SG 21 6'2'' 195 C A+ C C+ C- BSolid but the shot attempts will need to go up if he'll be anything more. Would like to see rv try Mateen Thrope at SG and start Kawhi at SF so we can see more from the 4th pick in the draft. Rv continues to show his bias towards software created players as Paul Cho is getting more PT than Kawhi. :cmonson: 8. Klay Thompson SG 20 6'7'' 205 C+ A- C C+ C BDecent 9. Enes Kanter C 18 6'11'' 245 B+ C- C B- B- AHis FG% with that FT% doesn't make much sense, his shooting this season might be a fluke. Has a ways to go on defense, those steals and blocks need to improve. 10. Derrick Williams SF 19 6'8'' 245 B C+ C- B- C+ AIncluded Williams in the rankings this time to show my displeasure with that Raptors trade. Numbers aren't that much worse than Len Bias' rookie year.

Day 120 Top 10 1. Kyrie Irving PG 18 6'3'' 190 B B+ B+ A- C- ADeserved runaway winner for rookie of the year. And Kn has the second best odds in the lotto. 2. Jonas Valanciunas C 19 7'1'' 280 B- C D+ A- B+ AGoing to be really good. Jazz are right there with the Nuggets as one of the young teams on the rise. 3. Tobias Harris SF 19 6'9'' 240 B B C C+ C+ AVery good rookie season but his numbers declined as the season went on. 4. Tristan Thompson PF 19 6'10'' 245 B D+ D+ B+ A- AGood numbers in only 24 minutes. Glad Shaun started giving him more PT. 5. Jimmy Butler SG 21 6'7'' 220 B B C- A- C+ AWish he shot more but he still looks like a good prospect. 6. Jimmer Fredette SG 21 6'2'' 195 C A+ C C+ C- BGreat shooting percentages, if he gets any points put into him they should all go to his inside scoring, quickness and strength. 7. Alec Burks SG 19 6'5'' 215 B- B C C+ C+ BJazz are set on the wings for the future with Ackles at SF and Thompson or Burks at SG. 8. Klay Thompson SG 20 6'7'' 205 C+ A- C C+ C BI obviously like Burks better but Thompson probably has more trade value within the league should Spl decide to trade one of them. 9. Nikola Vucevic C 20 7'0'' 260 B C- C B B+ AWith more minutes he could have been top 5. Great trade asset for Bankz. 10. Bismack Biyombo PF 18 6'8'' 245 C D D+ A- B+ AGoing to be one of the best defense/rebounding only bigs by the end of his rookie deal.
