I'm going to profile the odds for a team to win the championship.
This is interactive. Soup approved betting.
Rules - max bet is 500. Can only select one team .
Betting closes after day 75.
The front runners
Nets 3:1 - Nets come in as having the highest odds to win it. Only downside is the stacked east. Best combo down low
Sixers 4:1 - Coming in second are the sixers. Joe smith is holding them back. Probably have the most firepower in the east
Suns 4:1 - Not quite on the level as the two above, but still the most complete team in the west. Tag team down low is impressive
Kings 5:1 - Not buying the early season struggles of the Kings. Have the most explosive player in the league, but pg play is hurting them.
A cut below
Raptors 6:1 - One of the more defensively sound teams in the league. Great defensive combo down low. We don't like the teams ability to score in crunch time though
Blazers 6:1 - Return pretty much everyone from last years championship squad. Probably the best 1-2 scoring/efficiency combo in the league. Can a miracle happen again?
Grizzlies 9:1 - They have scoring on the wings but a dominant pg is really holding them back from being serious contenders
Pacers 10:1 - Some may see the 4th best winning % and deem this a value. It's not . Total pretenders
Cavaliers 11:1 - Are maybe a year away. Need more efficiency at the 4. Benji needs more seasoning.
Crazier things have happened
Heat 12 :1 - the heat still have impressive trio. But they can't stop a nose bleed. Mihm has been terrible
Bobcats 13:1 - team should be better than they are score really well from the 2,3, and 4 spots. Get blocks all around. Need dominant pg
Rockets 13:1 - similar to the bobcats. Have tremendous individual scoring. Pg play is killing them. Have no real offensive threat down low. Start Iverson
Sonics 14:1 - look a little overvalued but should figure it out. Lack of moves killing them. Blair can do some amazing things though.
Hawks 15:1 - holding onto the last playoff spot in the east. Just don't have it this year. Or any year really.
Bulls 16:1 - aren't currently in the playoffs have great individual players but haven't come together as a team
Wolves 16:1 - have 3 really good players but it's not working. Needs to make moves if he ever wants to compete.
Long shots
Clippers 20:1 - Team shouldn't be nearly as bad as they are. Lots of season left though.
Spurs 22:1 - team is actually in the playoffs. Doubt they finish there.
Knicks 22:1 - nothing has really changed from last year which is why the results are somewhat shocking.
The field 30:1 deadliest teams left are the Nuggets and Celtics.
