Dil's 3030 Big Board
Analyses
1. Chris Webber PF/C 6'9" 255 20 A- C- C+ B+ B A 100
- Exqueeze me? These are the best big man grades I can remember seeing. Crazy scoring, handles, defense, and solid rebounding with A potential. He's the clear 1.1 imo. Should be a franchise player from day one.
2. Penny Hardaway PG 6'7" 195 22 B B- B B- C A 99
- A lot of people have been awaiting Penny, one of the sim league fan favorites, and his starting grades do not disappoint. Elite across the board to tag along with elite size. The Eric PG hate is overdone imo so I'm expected big things out of Penny. One of the best looking PG prospects to come out in a while.
3. Vin Baker PF/C 6'11" 280 22 B+ C- D B B B 97
- Big Vin making his debut. Really solid starting grades on a huge frame. Vin should be a very good scorer from day one and if his B potential is true he should hit A- A- defense and rebounding at least.
4. Shawn Bradley C 7'6" 285 21 B C- D+ A B- A 97
- Really impressive starting grades for Shawn actually. The only reason he isn't higher is because I'm skeptical of his production due to how realistic eric attempts to create players. If he turns out to be a legit scorer then uh oh league..
5. Lil Penny PG 5'3" 145 20 C+ B+ B B C- A 96
- Someone is going to take the risk here, maybe sooner, and that person is going to be either really happy or really sad. I don't see it going any other way. Lil Penny has the grades to be taken over Big Penny but the size is an issue. From what I remember height is a pretty significant factor in offensive and defensive performance in the software. Need more info from guys with the software here.
6. Jamal Mashburn SF 6'8" 240 21 B C+ C B- C A 94
- These grades don't blow anyone away but they are great building blocks for success. We've seen a lot of elite scoring wings start with B C+ grades. The name helps a little bit here and he should have good potential to go along with it.
7. Isaiah Rider SG 6'5" 215 22 B- B C C+ C A 93
- The first of the three elite scoring SG's. I like Rider the most because of his C+ defense and A potential. He should always be a solid scorer but the software will likely determine how high he rises.
8. Allan Houston SG 6'6" 210 22 B- B+ C C C A 92
- Houston was a great 2.0 player but it seems like Soup doesn't like to repeat the success of old heroes in 4.0. I think he wants to make a name for himself. Anyways, Houston should be a killer scorer, possibly the best in this class outside of Webber. The kicker here will be his defense.
9. Calbert Cheaney SG/SF 6'7" 210 22 B- B C C+ C B 91
- Speaking of 2.0 heroes, Calbert was an elite player for his entire past sim life career. Unfortunately his entire career was wasted on losing teams. If there's one 2.0 beast that Soup should make a 4.0 beast my vote is for Calbert for the hope of redemption.
10. Gheorghe Muresan C 7'7" 320 22 C D+ D B+ A- A 88
- Again with a former 2.0 beast. Dude is very large and very ugly, just as Buster prefers his women. He will never be a scorer but he does have a solid chance of being a 3+ bpg and 12+ rpg guy which will always has a place in this hallowed league.
11. George Lynch SF 6'7" 220 23 B C C B+ B- B 87
- This guy has great grades but I think he's going to suck. Not a fan of defensive specialists and the B C scoring grade usually doesn't pan out for some reason. Anyways, you guys should draft him because I am often very wrong about Soup's players.
12. Bobby Hurley PG 6'0" 185 22 C+ B- B C+ D+ A 87
- The first of the lowe end PG's imo. I have him higher than the rest due to his A potential and B handles. I would rather my PG be +1 handles than +1 defense. Hurley has a chance to redeem him irl career but he need to blow up tbh.
13. Nick Van Exel PG 6'1" 180 22 C+ B- B- B- D+ A 87
- Nick was a fun player to watch back in the day. He comes into sim as a very balanced PG with high potential. It's really personal preference between him and Hurley which is why I have both of them rated at an 87.
14. Lindsey Hunter PG 6'2" 180 23 C+ B- B- B+ D+ B 85
- I'm sure some people will have Hunter much higher but I don't value a high starting defensive grade as much as the next guy and I would rather have a guy with A potential. He has no hole in his game though which could be very promising if he goes to a GM that will boost his scoring and handles.
15. Sam Cassell PG 6'3" 185 24 B- C+ C+ B C- B 85
- Sam Big Balls Cassell comes into the league with mediocre grades but I think everyone is rooting for him to succeed. He needs high potential and an active GM for his career to develop.
