I'm going to do a rundown of the top 13 players on my "board". Class appears to be very top heavy and lacks pg's at first glance. Did this on my phone so there may be some errors.
1. Shaquille O'Neal
21
C
7'1
325
LSU
A D+ C- A- A- B
Easily the best grades we've seen for a big man entering the league. Has the ability to get up to 360 lbs. Wouldn't be surprising to see him start with 100 inside and 100 strength . Will be elite on the defensive end as well. Obviously will be a poor ft shooter but with upgrades can become average for a big. I'm glad fason made shaq the way he did so he can finally reflect his real life counterpart. Could understandably fall to #2 if someone falls in love with Jimmy.
2.
Jimmy Jackson
22
SG
6'6
220
Ohio St.
B B C B C+ A
To pair with one the better looking bigs we get an elite looking wing. If you took him over shaq you'd be basing that on the obvious notion of Bankz beasting the 2.0 maverick legend. And you wouldn't have to worry about the turnovers eric produced players carry with them. Your can't go wrong with either at the top.
3.Alonzo Mourning
22
C
6'10
240
Georgetown
B+ C D+ A- B B
A tremendous consolation for just finishing out of the top 2. Alonzo also has elite big grades entering the draft and his writeup suggests he will also be elite in key categories for a big. He could actually end up being a better defensive big than shaq. He also has a tremendous outside shot and hits free throws, making him a little more dynamic than Shaq. In any other draft he's easily #1 material. Insert shitty canesfan joke about his kidney.
4.Latrell Sprewell
22
SG
6'5
190
Alabama
B- B- C B- C A
Another elite looking wing comes in at the 4 spot. He's interesting because his profile hints at him being a fantastic Passer and with C handles could end up being Pg eligible with the right owner. Should have Elite athletic attributes, and I'd guess he becomes one of the better defensive sg's due to his ability to get steals and even block some shots. Insert shitty canesfan joke about choking people.
5.Walt Williams
22
SF
6'8
220
Maryland
B- B- C C+ C A
Could have went a couple ways at #5 but I chose Walt. Understandably he has some negatives to him off the bat. His profile reads as if he really won't have great athletic attributes and in college he turned the ball over way to much. He's not a great rebounder for a sf either. However there are things to like. He should be on the upper echelon for sf'so strength wise and he netted over 2 steals per game his senior year.
6.Billy Hoyle
23
SG
6'3
190
Some College in Louisiana
C+ B+ C B- C B
A movie man checks in at #6. Ahead of Sidney on my board strictly because he's white. Billy looks like a young Jimmy Chitwood who turned out pretty good. Has the size of a pg and the profile hints at a possible pg eligible man in the future. Won't ever be elite defensively, but most of his inside rating should be in inside/Strength which is a positive.
7.Sidney Deane
22
PG
6'0
175
Santa Monica High School
C+ C+ B+ B- C- A
Sidney like Billy has great looking grades. His size is really the only downside. Athletically he's in a league of his own. He could potentially lead the league in steals at some point and the writeup hints at him blocking his fair share of shots. Sounds like Erics wet dream until you realize Sidney isn't Asian, doesn't rock a cup titties , and lacks hair that resembles Fason's bullcut.
8.Tom Gugliotta
22
PF
6'10
240
North Carolina State
B C+ C- B- B- B
Gets a little more jumbled here. He won't block many shots but will get steals. Can hit the 3 ball , but will have turnovers. Looks like a clear cheese SF if I have ever seen one. Has elite size at sf as well. Should be able to out muscle and out rebound his opponents at the 3. Could also prove to be a very good stretch 4 in another software.
9. Robert Horry
21
PF
6'9
220
Alabama
C+ C+ C- B B- A
Really like the looks of Horry here. Like Tom I think his best position will be at SF. Unlike Tom however he reads to have some elite athletic ability, just won't have the strength. Horry also blocked 3.5 shots per game his senior year to go along with 1.5 spg. I think he will be a steal for someone.
10.Christian Laettner
22
PF/C
6'11
235
Duke
B+ C+ D+ C+ B- B
I have him sliding a bit. He's should be great on the offensive end but his sub par athleticism and lack of d really hurts him. You'd have to bank on his potential being decent and your ability to mold him if you drafted him. He will rarely block shots and is relegated to playing the 4/5. Boom or buster here
11.Doug Christie
22
SG
6'6
200
Pepperdine
C+ C+ C B C B
Doug is an interesting prospect who happens to be a 0/0/0 guy. I don't think that hurts his stock to much. Looks like Shumpert did coming out however you'd hope he develops more offensively like Thabo. C handles , most of which will be in passing as he has turnover problems. The defense will always be there. Low ceiling high floor player.
12.LaPhonso Ellis
22
PF
6'8
240
Notre Dame
B C-D+ B- B B
Should probably be above Doug. Can make the case for him at sf but I'm not seeing it with C- outside which is interesting because his profile hints at him developing the 3 ball. Can block shots and grab his share of rebs. He's a classic late lotto guy.
13. Harold Miner
21
SG
6'5
210
USC
B B- C C C A
One of the bigger boom or buster guys in this draft. Got worse every year in college. Will have high jumping that could scare off some suitors. However he takes care of the ball and can shoot the rock. Looks like Nick Young 2.0 which is scary but I think he's worth the gamble here.
