It's always been current year + 5 if it's current year plus five, then 03 would be current, 04-08 would be the next five |

5 years to me means 5 years, if the rule was "upcoming draft +5 years" that's 6 years.

Does the current season's record apply to the 02 draft or the 03? It doesn't matter what this season is called, like at all. The rule is either 5 or upcoming plus 5, the latter being how 2.0 was. |

your first decision at start of 4.0 was 3 total years, which was how creation was done since we could only trade 2 years further out, it was decided after creation to extend to 5 total
so I took that as meaning 5 total, or current draft and extend out 4 more years.
