your first decision at start of 4.0 was 3 total years, which was how creation was done since we could only trade 2 years further out, it was decided after creation to extend to 5 total so I took that as meaning 5 total, or current draft and extend out 4 more years. agree |

It's always been current year + 5 if it's current year plus five, then 03 would be current, 04-08 would be the next five No way can current mean 03. |

to me it comes down to calling 5 total years 5 total years, not "current +4"
if we're allowed to trade 6 total years, then say 6, not "upcoming +5" or w/e

I personally think 07 should be the limit... and you wont be able to trade the 08 till this season is official.
Just my opinion with absolutely no dog in this fight.

2.0 never had a rule about current year + however many years out, it was just "trade within your GM contract", which was 5 seasons, upon hitting 41 wins it extended out for at least another year.
so ppl traded a 6th year because once you hit 41 wins your season as far as GM contract was concerned was "over".
