Thompson is the top big man prospect in this draft. He’s a great athlete that has the ability to become one of the better all-around big men in the league. As a scorer, he has solid low post moves, can finish over either shoulder, and has a soft touch around the rim. He shoots free throws pretty well for a big, but needs to improve his consistency from the line. He sees the floor well and is good at finding open teammates when he is double teamed. Thompson's a presence both offensively and defensively on the glass. On defense, he has good timing as a shot blocker and is good at challenging shots. He should be an elite post defender once he gets stronger. Thompson could be an all-star and long time starter for the team that drafts him. He should go somewhere in the top five picks.
