Johnson is an impressive low post scorer and rebounder in spite of his lack of size. He is often able to use his great strength to get shots up down low or bully his man for rebounds. He is a good free throw shooter, but will need to extend his range to be an effective wing scorer. As a post defender, he does a good job of forcing his man into taking difficult shots, but will never block many shots due to his lack of height. He makes up for his lack of shot blocking with quick hands to grab steals.
