So as I was watching some summer league the other day, I thought it'd be cool if we had a summer league concept somewhat similar to winterball from the baseball league. This is what I came up with in my head, feel free to discuss, tweak, shoot down etc.
- Every team is eligible - One player per team - Player must have <3 years experience at the time of summer ball i.e. Rookies, 1 year ex. and 2 years ex. eligible - Summerball happens after TC - Must select a category to improve that is < 75 - 1 6 point, 5 5 point, 9 4 point, 9 3 point, 5 2 point - Players are listed in order of submission, then those numbers above are generated in a random order - If a team doesn't send a player to winterball, the point value is taken off the end of the list - Only one trip to Summer League per career
Ex:
Johnson jump shot 4 Williams strength 2 Smith blocking 5 etc. etc.

Yes if done properly. Would take a bit to figure out how to do it without it causing too much inflation.

It was a lot of fun in tmbbsl and I think it could be here, too.

obviously the point numbers could be tweaked to have more of the lower numbers etc. i do think it'd be neat if there was one outlier of someone winning the lotto and getting a 6 if you will

I like the idea of some summerball concept, but don't really like just giving everyone free points.
Maybe like a tournament like Poe used to do with the draft classes.
Pacific, Midwest, Central, Atlantic each have a team. Each team sends 1-2 players to be part of the team (less than 3 years experience). Winning team gets like +3 points for their guys?

Defending division champ gets to select the roster but it must contain at least 1 player from every team in the division and no more than 2 from any team.

if you tweak it to include equal possibility of having attributes lowered 1-6 then yes.
having something that has zero downside and just pumps 100 points worth of attributes to the total player pool every year is a horrible idea no offense.

you can't read or do basic math?
29 players would get free upgrades every year from this thing, on average they'd get 3 or so points each. That's 100 extra attribute points pumped in the player pool for no cost.
10 years in and the league is inflated by 1000 attribute points than if this thing didn't exist.

No , that was a poorly written and constructed run on sentence. If you are going to live in this great country, learn the language/ grammar. Thanks Trofie

inflation is going to happen no matter what in the league +3 attribute points to 29 players on average really isn't a big deal what so ever the problem is when guys have tons of bonus points put into them and become mosters
adding this from shout b/c it's prob better off in here

i also don't like the idea of the division winner picking the player from my team who goes and the possibility of 2 players going from one team and only one from others, gives certain teams an advantage. if you want to make it less selective, then open summer league only to teams that didn't make the playoffs.

I just think there should be some type of games or something if it is supposed to be Summer Ball
otherwise it is just an additional TC

Not a fan. But I'm never a fan of extra points in the league.
*I actually really like that we have tmbsl politics. I'm very right wing conservative in tmbsl terms.

The summer ball teams could have two players from one team but only 1 player should receive the +3 :twocents:

I'm not really all that knowledgeable on this stuff yet, but I also like the idea of keeping bonus points to a minimum, just to ensure that when someone truly awesome like Magic comes along, they are really a cut above the rest.

Not a fan of adding a bunch of extra points for no reason but if it's something fun and nothing too crazy I'm all for it.
