Hello Loyal Readers! I present the 3051 Season dump buck breakdown: SPL Bucks generated by team:Suns predictably the best. There were 29 players that generated more SPL bucks than the entire Bullets team. SPL Bucks generated by Opposing Team:Not as wide a spread as the first list. Celtics a bit of an outlier at the bottom (hint: they used Very Slow).
Top 15 SPL Buck Generators - PlayersNo surprise that glory hog Lonzo Ball is at the top. He cares more about individual counting stats than the team. This analysis makes me think he might be involved with some bad people in sim Vegas. SPL Bucks generated by Position
There were 137,575 SPL Bucks generated in 3051. 76,950 came from Team Rewards. 60,625 from Player Rewards Butch Lee generated 0 SPL Bucks. Nikoloz Tskitishvili generated 0 SPL Bucks. The SPL Buck economy is STRONG. Next year I can chart GDP growth. 20s better pray it's at least 5% or his seat could get warm.

is there a particular reason that you're requiring a league full of grown adults with full time jobs to go though 82 games worth of box scores for a simulation basketball league so they can get access to a small competitive advantage when that same advantage is available to every member of the league without exception free of the time waste of going through the box scores?

I have a feeling that if 20s did let people use this for SPL bucks rewards, it'd only be for this season. Ank just wouldn't post the totals in the future.

I'm having trouble tracking this sentence the entire way through. The box score rewards are meant as a reward and incentive for league activity (checking out your box scores). They are not a required part of the league by any means. I am not requiring anyone to go through anything.

Yes, I am asking that if the want the dump buck reward, they take the time to perform the actions that the reward is incentivizing. I don't understand the problem with that? Should I give people dump bucks for articles they don't write as well? Because I make them take the time out of their lives to write and post an article if they want to receive the dump bucks for those articles. Ank didn't provide any thing that is usable to claim the rewards. Do you think posting Grizzlies 3051 season +8000 in your bank would work? You need to specify what reward was earned and provide links to the games to receive the reward. If ank gives everyone that and they post it it, they would receive the dump bucks.

if you could get points automatically for box score rewards without checking there would be no point in box score awards lol

Well this isn't really anything close to that what so ever, considering every team has access to the amount that their team earned right in ank's article, I really don't see the need to try and be a hard ass about not using it. People are plenty active in the league, and taking a half hour to go tally up box score stuff for one season really isn't going to change that, but hey, gotta use the power where you've got it eh?

I am seriously astounded by this take. I'm not using any power, I am giving people credit for any rewards they post and link just like it has been the case in the league for what, 40 seasons? The box score rewards were implemented when odin was the commish. You are asking for me to just give dump bucks to everyone for no reason? Because ank posted an unverified number saying that is how much everyone earned? I am really confused. The reward is for finding and posting your achievements. If people do that, they receive the reward. It isn't meant to punish anyone. It is an additional means of earning dump bucks for people who don't want to write articles but want to put in the work to go through their box scores. If people don't want to do that, it is completely fine. I've never pressured or called anyone out as being inactive if they aren't claiming box scores.

If people don't want to do that, it is completely fine. I've never pressured or called anyone out as being inactive if they aren't claiming box scores. The reason would be that their team/players had achievements leading to the reward. If ank just made up the numbers then his article should get 0 points. He's now using something that already does the work for him and double dipping by just posting the info it gathers for every team, without every team being able to use it. It puts everyone that doesn't have a spreadsheet or the time to go through every box score at a severe disadvantage, especially with a team and what could end up as multiple teams selling off players for dump bucks. Ank just cashing in on 10 seasons worth of box score rewards from his automated system and using those dump bucks to buy a stud player sets a bad precedent for competitive advantage as well as fairness. You can come back with "but everyone can build their own whatever macro/excel spreadsheet blah blah" to do the same thing, but the fact of the matter is that most of us don't have the time or knowledge to do so and aren't going to seek it in order to build this program for a sim basketball league, and worst case scenario, it could cause people to leave the league on account of not being able to compete.

But there are plenty of things in the league that reward more activity over less and we don't legislate those based on if everyone has the time/desire to spend their time doing that. We also don't legislate based on skill level or ability (Ank's ability to find his achievements via excel instead of clicking through each box score). Some GMs are better at negotiating than others, some are willing to spend their time trying to build advanced analytics spreadsheets (eric) to try to find hidden gems of players and give themselves an advantage that way. Everyone spends as much or as little time on their team and the league as they desire. It will always benefit those who are willing to spend more time on it.
I really do listen to the GMs and consider anything they bring up, if it is the sentiment league wide that box score rewards are an abuse of my power as commish and shouldn't exist, I am willing to listen and take a look.

The point is that the box score data was made available to everyone, ank dropped the knowledge then claimed points for it in his "article" and I don't see how taking advantage of the information posted shouldn't be allowed to be taken advantage of by everyone. SPL doesn't check every single link when someone posts their achievements anyways.

Even Ankly, who took the time and effort to build the sheet and macro, still has to post the reward and link to the box score in his bank thread. The idea that people could just claim the dumpbucks Ankly posted in the OP is beyond ridiculous.

But they are posted publicly for anyone else to audit. If someone was ever outed for falsifying box score claims, the punishment would be severe. I would hope no one has ever attempted that. Again, I am not trying to misinterpret anything you are saying. What did you mean by if I have the power, I need to use it in regards to this topic? Hopefully that can be cleared up with open communication.
