Worst record gets last pick. Best record gets first pick. Devine never gets a good pick. No more tanking. Talent gets more spread out and it helps "inflation".
All of these things are possible with chaos.

i like the idea of unweighted lotto for non-playoff teams.

if it's unweighted lotto you still only auto the top 3 picks right? that really won't keep teams from tanking. No, it would be a randomized draft order of all 29 slots.

Yeah, that's my least favorite option.

I think unwieghted 29 team lotto is too extreme in the opposite direction. If you're a team without many assets, you don't really have much hope for improvement.

Don't see how doing this helps anything....what is wrong with tanking? What's wrong with 6 teams battling it out for a top pick? Inflation is going to happen regardless of what we do..I don't see giving someone with 40+ wins an opportunity to get a top pick..it makes no sense to me....people bitching about something that shouldn't change..incentive to not tank but you have the east full of teams over .500..sry it's really stupid to change a lotto mid league.

That's the most retarded thing I've ever heard. ..people get fucked in free agency then has the chance to get fucked again after tanking. ..would remove all interest in the league for those getting screwed by software

I don't see how talent can get more spread out when the best teams can just get better. Its more like the rich get richer and the poor get the shaft.

So now we will have dumbass offers sent because it's the only way to find talent...let's just flood the league with ridiculous amounts of shit contracts. .

Why can't people get worst what's the problem with that? I think there is more of a problem having so many FA that suck balls with d- grades and such...people tank irl why is it all of a sudden a bad thing to tank for Jordan or barkley?

Plus it would make picks almost impossible to move so thats another way to get talent that would be shut off by a 29 team unweighted lotto

So the mavs get a top pick this year, how is that going to help the league? That will ruin it and make every middle tier team not give a shit about the league.

I'm with Dirt. 29 team unweighted lotto is stupid. So is the wheel. Changing the way the league is run when it's going as good as its ever been would be a horrible idea and could potentially kill the league.

I'll just say this and leave it at that: you can't completely overhaul the entire draft system in a league when we're 5 seasons in, either we stick with the current system or make an entire new league with a brand new creation draft using the new system. Too many teams have mortgaged way too much of their future assets for something like the wheel or unweighted lotto to take place now.
Inflation is a software TC and rookie making problem, not a tanking or not tanking problem, you make enough 20 year olds with high potential and amazing initial grades and inflation is going to happen rapidly under any sort of drafting system.

Or you just implement it five seasons from now so teams have time to prepare.

13 team unweighted lottery is a good compromise.

I am against it. I like doing an unweighted lottery for the 13 teams outside of the playoffs so you can still have cycles of rebuilding and competing but no one has incentive to burn it to the ground because as long as they aren't in the playoffs, they have the same shot. And you can say that can lead some teams to try to tank out of the playoffs late, but if the talent is more evenly distributed, a 6-8 seed has a better shot in the playoffs (making it a more attractive option to be in this position), and we already have teams that blow it up at the end of the season anyways. Jerry did it in the creation season. RV did it this year. I did it last year. Pretty sure Ian did it before he tanked. It's already being done almost every season so it's not like it's a new issue.
With the competitive landscape like the EC is this season, I could easily see a bottom 4 seed going deep in the playoffs.

I am against the 13 team unweighted lotto. Think it will have large negative affects on the league. If we are going to base draft pick off your record, I think we need to leave it how it is.
I am in favor of removing the incentive to tank altogether, but if we aren't going to do that, I prefer the set up we have now to a 13 team unweighted lottery.
