I am going to use this thread for questions as I continue to work on organizing the various sim-league rules. I encourage other people to use this thread (instead of shout, or if you use shout, to post the question/response here) to ask clarifying questions.

First question is about PG eligibility.
Here is the written rule about PG eligibility
Clarification: Can a player with B+ or better handles be changed to listed at PG in the software if he (i) is NOT on a rookie deal and (ii) was not drafted or listed as a PG in their draft profile?
I have understood the rule to be that you have to meet two of the four criteria to be moved to PG, but I think I was wrong and just want to be sure before I include this rule.
EXAMPLE:
DJ Strawberry was listed as a SG in his draft profile and continues to be listed as a SG in the software. DJ Strawberry is no longer on his rookie contract, but his handling is A-.
Is DJ Stawberry eligible to play PG WITHOUT being moved to PG in the software? If no, is DJ Strawberry eligible to be MOVED TO PG in the software?

I found out this rule in the last FA period and so I'm putting it here for future reference.
You cannot make use of your exceptions (MLE/LLE) until the round AFTER you go over the cap. So if you are below the cap on day 1, you cannot sign any player with an exception even if another offer accepted on day 1 puts you over the cap.

I think the rule is that you cannot use your MLE/LLE unless you are at 45,500,001 or 48,800,001 salary, respectively. You don't have to be over the soft cap.

If you are listed as a PG in your draft profile, you are always eligible to play PG. If you are listed as a Guard in your draft profile, you are eligible to play PG during your rookie contract (regardless of whether you have B+ handles), and after your rookie contract IF you have B+ or higher handles. If you are a SG or SF, you are eligible to play PG if you have B+ or higher handles. No player listed as SF/PF, PF, PF/C, or C in their draft profile will be eligible to play PG.

off topic but slightly related, just list Lebron as a SF/PF when his draft comes up and we won't ever have to worry about nerfing his grades so that he can't play PG imo, that way he can still get his 100 jumping/strength/quickness or whatever and not have it be "unfair" vs PGs.

I'm ok with that but the league might object.

The rules for SC and RC are: "You cannot upgrade someone over 85 in an category." "no RC's in a category at 85 or over"
If I have a player at 84 in Strength and request an SC for Strength, what happens? 1. Upgrade not allowed. 2. Upgraded to 85. 3. Upgraded to 89.

Eh i'm somewhat torn on the Lebron thing but that's from having him play PG for me. I wouldn't be pissed either way but IRL he's basically point forward so

So after last night, I thought it made sense to establish an explicit rule on this.
The Zydrunas Ilgauskas Rule
If I trade a player to another team who is then cut, can I immediately sign that player? Can I negotiate for that cut to be part of the trade stipulations? Can I make that signing part of the trade post?

there used to be a 24 hour period.
no stipulations anymore.

Season Ending Injuries
If a player ends the season injured, they will be healthy to start the next season regardless of how many days they are out at the end of the season.
Adam Silver: yeah i reset injuries May 30, 2015 21:32:13 GMT -4

the season is 185 days, injuries do carry over from one season to the next if they're long enough.
as for reset injuries via soup, that's up to him.

can i sign an mle if i have one on my roster that has been extended the year(s) before? Yes. You can sign a mle every year. I guess the rule reads you can't extend a mle if you already have one on your roster.
